I always used to use deans solder, but as far as I know they stopped making it for some reason?

What do all you guys use now? Or is it all the same?

2% Dean's solder contain lead. The lead is hazardous material and in California it's starting to be illeagal cuz of lead. Lead-free solder is the now thing. Still can find lead/tin solder. Or purchase silver solder, it needs more heat and flux. Lead free solder just trying, it ok, but silver solder is better. Just use what available.

The kind of solder that my soldering iron can melt...
Racing at Speedworld in the heat you do not want a cheap one or it will melt on you. Billy has some great stuff he will sell you..

So theres no one preferred solder. Guess I will just get what ever the shop has

Ko Propo solder is pretty awesome if you can find it. It has a good amount of silver kinda like much more or deans solder.

Novak has a good silver solder for a nice price. I think it's 2%. You can also find 4% silver solder from Muchmore and other audio specialty shops...

The novak stuff is the absolute worst out there. it takes forever to heat up and then it wont hold. you can pull the wires off after it has cooled
