Since this is a Palmaris thread, let us just concentrate on the developments of the Palmaris engine. Let's not get into slamming other products here, no matter how preposterous they may be...

Sure, sorry about that . I saw the subject mentioned and just dived in. Should have been in the "Team Orion Wasp REV" thread.

Hi Ed & Chris,

I took my engine apart and took some pics.
A couple of things puzzle me.

1) The sleeve in the PR12 is supposed to be bi-metal right?
Shouldn't there be a weld line round the middle of the sleeve where the 2 metals are welded? I remember seeing a picture of the bi-metal sleeve on this thread and there was a faint line round the middle of the sleeve. Or am I totally mistaken...?

2) I have heard that the piston and sleeve fit should be really tight and gets stuck at TDC. But with my engine, I can turn the crank around by hand after mounting the flywheel. Seems like there's little compression. It's not even run in yet. Is this normal with the PR12?

Hope you can clarify my queries before I run in the engine...

Thanks.

It is depend which version of motor you get-if it is BRB, will be no welding line, if it is Bi-metal then you will clearly see welding seam.
About fitting of piston-we don't make them very tight to save time and fuel on run in process. It still will take 10-12 tanks to have fully run in.

who told you that and why!

Ok, back to real.
Our Piston and Sleeve set is what some people called "matched" We make them so EACH SET fits according to factory specification before leaving our plant. We go a lot further than most.
I hope you like it, please let us know after running in.

Edward.
the 2 nd driver, (Wai) using my engine with the modded palmaris Crank , rest are what comes with the engines. All BRB, non are Bi metal yet.
I did not race, just helping guys out.

Not taking away from our guys, our engines weren't faster than the Team MAX and Team Mega Picco .15small block. (we were faster than rest of .15 small block that you can buy from shops,) the 2 team .15 engine may have little better torque, but on the straight, can't tell any difference.

William and Wai were the only drivers made 34 lap in 10mins qualify

I will never be tired of telling people we kicked A......
