I had my first race with my m-05 yesterday I did ok but not great. My shocks are to long they are the cva's not the mini cva's. What's the general opinion on adding weight? The top place finishers had very heavy cars. We are running on carpet with stock motors and open rubber mini size tires. I placed an order for proper shocks, do you think they'll be enough to help stop my inside tire from unloading so much. Or should I pack it full of lead.

Here are some pics of my M05 Pro. I've build it for the TIM-Challenge (Tamiya International Mini-chassis Challenge) in the Netherlands - march 2012. Upcoming weekend will be the first race for me and this car at a track in the North of the Netherlands. I'm used to race offroad 1/8th nitro buggy and 1/10 electro buggy, so I'll let surprise me by this litte car...

As the TIM-challenge is in three months, I've some time to practise... :-)

Thumbs up M03 Rear-wheel driver conversion

Thanks to rc-mini.net for the idea, I've just completed converting my M03 into an RWD. I just can't wait to get it to the track to try it out..

The first one is a VW Beetle Concept 1 from RC Outlet. This is an older, quite rare body.

The second one is a Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR Berlina Body set Tamiya Part #51424

The VW Beetle shell isn't that rare. Rc Mart has been carrying them for years and often sells them in 2 for 1 deals. It's made by Colt. Great body for a good price.

The Colt body is different from my 1996 RC Outlet body.
My RC Outlet VW Concept 1 body is one piece, not two pieces.

But it looks like the Colt body and probably it is quite the same, but it's not the same...

I think HPI had the VW Concept 1 as well, but I can't remember if it was 2 piece or 1 piece.

Tim,

HPI Concept VW was two piece. The rear wing was fitted to the car using double sided tape. I still have my original HPI VW concept car here at home.

Later,

Calvin.
