I too love the hex outdrives. Gone are the days of thightening your wheels up and locking them up at the same time, lol
Oh and lipo and brushless.

I think something worthy of a mention is the 10L ( & 12L) chassis design. Gil Losi Jr. apparently gets credit for the original T-plate chassis design (hence the L) that was introduced to the market by Associated. Simple, light, durable, tuneable, affordable - this configuration has now been in constant use as well as being competitive for at least 16 years. (not really sure of the first year it was designed) Over the years there's been a 1,001 variations marketed by dozens of companies - but the original concepts still endures even today in 1/12 scale onroad as well as oval racing.
Great work Gil !

Sanctioning bodies such as IFMAR, ROAR, FEMCA, EFRA, and FAMAR. Without great organizations like these to join, R/C would have been an unorganized mess (like whats its becoming now) with everybody racing different classes with different rules. These organizations set the guidelines to which the whole world could race by and see who is the best in the world. It was good while it lasted.

best rc innovation - the internet, pages and pages of knowledge on all aspects of rc from set up to driving styles and everything i between also the online shop has pushed down the price of the hobby to the consumer
worst rc innovation - the internet, would we really have all these arguments (4cell v 6cell, lipo v nimh, stock v mod, hb v xray etc.) now if it wasnt for internet messaging boards and websites, was it not easier when roar, ifmar, brca, efra, clubs just made the decisions seemd as though there was a lot less arguments and confusion

DSM Spektrum Technology is nice.....but its nothing new. Someone finally just decided to apply it to R/C. This is the same stuff that has been in cordless phones forever. So with that being said....I agree with the ball diff nomination
