Nothing in Manhattan. The nearest place is out on Long Island, Willis Hobbies. Best bet, order your parts and bring them with you. Tamiya support in NYC is almost non-existant.

Tamiya support is not "almost" it IS non existent....

You could take the M train into Ridgewood, get off at Fresh Pond RD and both Nagarest Hobbies and NYC hobbies are a short walking distance... NYC Hobbies is on Myrtle Ave and Nagarest is on Fresh Pond Rd... They'd be your best bet for anything you are looking for... I know there's a hobby shop on the west side but I've only been by there once and they were closed...

Default Nagengast

Nagengast is like right there from my house. Ed hooks me up. As far as electric, slim pickings. I have never been to NYC hobbies, but, I guess I have to get good with them if I am going to race on their track huh

That was American Hobby Center. They had ZIP when it came to Tamiya support. They do have a track on the roof out in bergen. 27t only.

Brownie's Pro and Sport Hobbies

George & Mary Brown & Sons

124 Bennett St.
Staten Island, NY 10302

(718)727-2194 Fax (718)727-3264

George (aka Brownie) has been flying model planes for 60 years, and I swear he has every plane hanging from the ceiling! His son John runs the RC car stuff and has competed in the Tamiya Championship Series for as long as they have had it. He has a very good selection of Tamiya stuff. Give him a call and see what he has.

Getting there might be a problem. They're in a not so good part of Staten Island. Car is the only way to get there. 30-45 minute drive from midtown, mostly because of traffic. But definitely worth it. This is an old school hobby shop.
