Ghost will be in my hands on Friday (along with the D06)

Are we going to see "ghost" Vta specific setups for this car??

I have started building the Ghost (slow going due to time constraints). Sorry no pics yet but I can say that I'm very pleased so far. The fibreglass chassis is very nicely machined with well countersunk holes and is surprisingly stiff (I may just be used to my Mi5 which is a wet noodle compared to "standard configuration" touring cars). There is very little sacrificed in this kit to lower the cost - in fact the fibreglass parts may be a performance advantage in the VTA class. Very few additional plastic parts - mostly gorgeous VBC aluminum. This chassis looks to be a contender not only for VTA but also for stock touring - really good value for the money. Anyway I will post pics eventually along with some build details.

This car seems to be a blend of the 05 and 06. If running in VTA, I would get this car. If the 06 was the ticket, they could have made a VTA version of it. Instead they took their time to design a specific chassis with its own steering components. If I hadnt have just bought a used D05 a week before this came out, I would have one on my hobby table right now. Probably still will get one after tax refund comes in next year and turn the 05 into a 17.5 car. This car shoukd get a lot of VTA focused support from the manufacturer such as set ups and hop uo down the road.
One thing that would be really cool would be a weighted chassis. I know that getting it perfect would be impossible, but something that would get the car to around 1K grams without electronics would probably work. It would allow for minimal weights to be added whether your running ROAR or USVTA. Plus it would keep the weight as low as possible.

Ball joints are very high quality on this kit, shims were included to take out any play in the arms - no slop anywhere on this build so far.
I did purchase the optional carbon fibre tierod adjuster set (so you don't bugger up the ball joints and turnbuckles) - highly recommended! There are two tools included - one holds the plastic ball cup and the other is for the turnbuckle.

What size is the spur that comes in the kit??

A nice 64 pitch 96 tooth - should be perfect for VTA and stock 17.5 blinky.

Interest in the Ghost was quite high at my local track/shop - they ordered one extra Ghost (besides the 2 Ghosts and 2 Wildfire D06's my brother and I ordered) and it sold almost instantly. Xray dominates VTA and touring in my area but there is some appetite for a good alternative at a lesser price point. VBC are looking to fill that slot in my opinion but we'll see once they hit the track. Very tough competion in VTA with many racers using T3's and T4's and myself using an Mi5 (fugging good car). Xray is great but it's getting a little ridculous in my area - they are not the only company to make a great chassis and we need some choice for the sake of the hobby - just more fun.
