is there any danger of shorting out the solder posts or tabs of an lrp quantum competition? they're mounted closely side by side on the esc. i saw that there is green "paint" on the sides of the solder tabs. is this enough to protect the three tabs in case a metal object (ie. paper clip from the racetrack) comes across the three tabs? or should i use a lexan shield or some other insulation in between the three tabs just in case? thanks for any info

maybe ill use heatshrink. i tried a homemade cover but the way i mounted the quantum, it's difficult to reach into the solder tabs to fit a lexan cover.
also, do you guys know the value / specs of the big capacitor that comes with the world's kit? i think this question was asked here somewhere but i lost track of it. thanks again for any info

Hi all,
I just bought a LRP quantum competition. I heard about fake versions so I want to check this. The ESC has a plastic dark blue transparant bottom case is this correct??? I espected a metal case.
Thanks

Thats correct. The bottom is plastic. Be careful! The blue metallic finish on the top half flakes off quite easily. I stuck by power swith to the side with double side tape, and if came off, taking the nice blue layer with it.

TFR,
Go to www.lrp-electronic.com and look under the downloads section. You can find the User Guide for the Quantum Sport there. It should asnwer all you questions.

TFR,
I hope you have better luck than me with LRP. Last night my Quantum Compition packed up... This one lasted almost three months, the original barely two weeks. And this is with a Stock motor. It still under warrenty, so I expect it will be replaced for free, but I'm beginning to doubt the quality of this product.
