What materials and things should I use for the banking, surface, walls, and hills? How big should it be? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the losi track set if you can't afford that use tech deck ramps for jumps and use smooth carpet for surface banking put stuff under carpet walls should be whatever you can find with duct tape and size if you have the room 10X10 for good space

one side is smooth and the other has a tread pattern but if you look at there site they show an actual track for mini z's

this is priced for 24 square feet

and for the price you really cant beat that

If you have access to a woodshop like me (dad's a carpenter) go for it! Do whatever you want!

that snap together track posted that was on ebay works really good we talked about a club i was at haveing people buy a package of these and give them like 4 race entrys for donateing them easy and cheap fast way to get a big track

My first track was office carpet and PVC rails, then we went with RCP and never looked back!

I've had my RCP for years now and it's been heavily abused and it is still in great shape! If you're going on-road, Mini-Z... there is no better! You can constantly modify it, it's portable (driven many miles in an SUV filled with foam) and it cleans up easy.

RCP tracks are cool, but they are EXPENSIVE!

Oh, 28 square feet can be either 2x12 or 4x6 feet.

The Losi track looks nice, and the 1/24 scale is a little nicer to me for working on and messing with. How do these mini-z cars work out at 1/28? They looks pretty cool with options, more $$$ then the Losi cars though. The videos I saw looked like FM radios?

To make at least a 10x10 track with RCP what would it take? I have sent them an e-mail but I do not see the size listings on the website. Looking to get a track set up for racing at home and practice, take the 1/10 scale stuff to the track and bash around outside with.

Another great alternative is rolled roofing rubber.. Its like $90 for a 12x 20 piece.. Some garden hose taped down for lane borders and your good to go.. heres a pic of my 20 x 10 basement track..Great for mini-z, throw some jumps on there and micro T's and Mini-z buggies..
