Hey Guys have i read some wear that you could put water in a pipe and put it in the freezer and it would take out some of the dents is this true and how much water do you put in the pipe? I don't wont to put to much water in the pipe and split it.

I does work. Fill the pipe completely and plug all openings. You can check it every 20 minutes or so after the first hour. You may find that the pipe is smooth again when frozen but once the ice starts to melt you dent will start to come back a little. That means you didn't leave it in long enough, or you need to refill and freeze it again. It depends on how large of a dent your working with also.

Also when you're plugging up the openings make sure you secure them tightly with zip ties. If you don't, once the water starts to freeze and expand it will pop the covers off.

Just did this over the weekend on my GO 0801 pipe that had the nipple pushed in. I found that the plugs that come under the lid of Losi's shock oil is a perfect fit for the larger opening. It worked like a charm and you can't even tell that the pipe was damaged now. I actually forgot about the pipe being in the freezer and left it there for 2 days, all was fine

a good idea is to plug the ends with tissue as when it freezes it expands and plugs the gap, you just need to put a small screw in the pressure line nipple. I have done it a few times on pipes. just balance it in the freezer so it will not fall over.

Antenna cap over the fuel line nipple, fuel bottle cap over the exhaust port, and I just shove a carb cap/cover in the large opening. Sometimes it pushes the caps off, sometimes it don't. Same results either way and I too have left mine in for over a day and it was fine. Usually only takes about 2 hrs though.

it does work my LRP pipe got t-boned badly and i had to do the freezing treatment 3 times and it came back great. good little fix.

Ok I have a question, does a small dent in a pipe really affect performance? I ask because i put a noticeable dent in one of my pipes due to a clearance issue (its a revo). I know the exhaust flow is affected, but I guessed it would be such a negligible number it wouldn't matter. It still hauls ass, but it is a .28...

It really depends on where the dent is and how big it is. I wouldn't worry to much about a very small dent. If the dent is small and in the outer chamber of the pipe, it won't have much affect on preformance at all

i think any dent in a "tuned" pipe would affect it's performance seeing as it would change the exhaust pulse....
