The VFS rocks. I ditched my GT7 for a Keyence Zero V Extreme, and then changed from the Keyence to the VFS-2000 and love it. I've got a profile loaded on there that's aggressive for stock and 19T but fairly easy on the comm too. The programmability is impressive.
As for the fan... yeah, that's just one of the Associated replacement fans zip-tied onto the bulkheads. I've been running it so that the fan blows hot air away from the brush hoods but I think it does a better job of cooling the motor when it blows cool air onto the hoods. Going to change things around for this weekend.

I would have never thought to blow hot air away from motor just cool air at the motor. Does it keep the motor cool?

I think if it were a little closer to the motor, blowing hot air away from the hoods (and consequently sucking air in through the vents at the pinion-end of the car and out through the hoods) might be good. I need to check the temps after a run with the fan blowing both directions to have more objective info, though.

There are a lot of minor differences betweent he FOC and the FK....
Hexes are lightened on the FK....No center one-way on the FK(front one-way instead)...lightened outdrives...lightened bulkheads with alternative roll center positions...low ratio pulley kit...solid upper deck instead of flexible deck...
There are other items, but that's a start on the differences

losi rob - you fk looks awesome
what is the weight of your purple springs?
what shock oil do you have in it? fr & rr
keep me updated with your "fan experiment" want to see how well it cools the motor.

Does anyone know if Losi shock oil is thicker or thinner than Associated?
