Folks, just building a V2. When trying to attach the steering linkage to the aluminum Servo saver arm, what kind of nut do you use on the bottom ? The one it says to use won’t fit into the machined slot under the Servo saver arm.

Thanks.

Also since it's raining and there's no 1/8 racing I might be better off waiting to see if the E817 gets the v2 upgrade before I buy.
I recently switched from Mugen MBX7R Eco to HB E817.....extremely happy with the decision......HB car in my opinion has gave me confidence....the set up I'm running right now indoor clay(sometimes high grip but sometimes dried out and loose)....this car is so much easier for me to drive.....and mega durable....very impressed with this car.....can not wait to go outside and stretch the legs on this thing as well as my HB Tessmann electric converted truggy

Are people running the shorter tower to lock down the rear end a Bit more on loose tracks?

Yes. I recently Installed the short tower on my nitro buggy. I ran for the first time at SIC. It was the best nitro buggy I've ever driven. Last night, I tried it for the first time on our local track it was good there as well. As far as difference in the regular tower, I would say had more rear grip, but at the same time, it was much more agile and easier to drive at the same time. I also tried it on my ebuggy last night. My ebuggy was super fast, but kind of loose if the track wasn't perfect or if I didn't have my best tires on it. With the new tower, it had tons of rear grip and was super easy to drive. I did notice it lost a touch of off power steering with the added grip, but before, I had 35wt oil front and rear. This time, I just threw on the nitro rear shocks that had 32.5. I think with a few minor changes, it should be just right.

Default V2 vs Short Rear Tower ?

Guys, I’m new to HB. Coming from the AE cars.

I just built a V2 and am wondering is the new rear tower/shock setup on the V2 the same as what everyone is calling the Short Rear Tower ?

Thanks

No it's not. The V2 tower is entirely new

From what I understand, it is a little taller and narrower. It allows you to run the same shock bodies with D8T shock ends. The low carbon tower requires different shock bodies. I will have a V2 tower soon to test.

I thought the v2 tower had the same effect as the short tower.

Do alot of the d815 part transfer over to the 17? Mostly the drivetrain and shock parts and the pills for the a,b,c and d blokes. I bought a used 17 and foumd a parts lot from a 15 for sale at a reasonable price but i dont want to waste my $ if they dont fit. Tia

Everything should fit besides the D block.

It falls in between the d815/17 and the short carbon rear tower.

You use the included buggy rear shock bodies with the D815/817 with the D817 V2 aluminum rear shock tower.
you only use the D8 Truggy front shock bodies with the short carbon rear shock tower.

The v2 tower was to give more movement in the rear shock for better bump absorption so you need the the longer stock shock bodies.

Yes. but the V2 also uses the longer rear shock ends from the D8T
