With the stock TCXX chassis I found running a centre post with no screws in the lay shaft holders to be very unpredictable.

I much preferred the normal configuration with 2 screws removed at the rear. It may be better with the stiffer aluminium chassis as I haven't tried this.

Is the aluminium chassis only good for carpet racing?

ChrisGT2,

How can we obtain one of these aluminum chassis? I used my TCXX for a few VTA races but ended up adding over 12 oz of lead weight to make it legal weight. Maybe the aluminum chassis is the answer.

Hi,
Here a picture of Andy's car at the Fai Ho hobbywing cup 2013:

We can see he used a Xray(?) diff at the rear, what the interest of that?

Beside he is still using TCX steering arms. Does he use it with a TCX or a TCXX chassis? What the interest of this?

I hope we could have pictures of his car during the world warm-up.

I asked the HPI team the very same question about TCX steering arms. I asked Stefan (he contributes on here), he told me it makes the car easier to drive. As I had a TCX I broke for spares, I used the steering arms on my TCXX. He was right!

First day out with the aluminum chassis was great! Car was fast and I was able to drive it hard into the corners. Very predictable, and consistent.

Only real changes I made from my carbon setup was leaning the shocks in 1 hole, but I also ran at a different track than normal.

Also, I run a floating servo mount, so I cut the extra mounting tab off. It was dragging in the high speed sweeper and causing the car to be unstable. After that, it was perfect.

Amain has the pro 4 arms. They only have 2 mounting holes. You can get them in carbon or regular plastic that is more durable but not as stiff. I ran them on all my HB cars when I still had them. They wrere easier to get than the tcx/tcxx arms. They have the same geometry as the pro4 as do the hubs and knuckles, so why not run them?
