i was over at macctrack today and i tried the ROAR (thought i might aswell...has same torque but more rpm than my monster)

thing is, first 2 minutes it was really good..had rip through the infield and very quick through the fast bits.

but, after about 2 minutes in..it went really weird, had same top end still but it had no rip what so ever....i was getting passed out of most corners.

i don't think it was overgeared and the batts were fully charged (So had the voltage)....any ideas?

What rollout did you use, im using 26/27mm/rev with a monster at macc, around 24 with a ROAR. Monster has been quicker for me though.

I just bought one of the Roar stocks. I haven't run it yet , but I was wondering what is a good overall gear ratio for this motor?

It depends on the track. Outdoors I have run any where from a 6.00 to as low as a 7.35. The 6.0 was on a huge track set-up for Nitro. 80% of the time I run 6.35 to 6.70. 110 foot straights. Hope this helps

Haha,

Yeah trust me, I wish my name had no "d" in it. Most people have no idea how to pronounce it when they see it written.

Csaari,

Like Utley said just give us a shout at the track and we'll help you with the gearing.

Just so you'll know I ran a ROAR stock a couple of times in B'ham Saturday and had it geared 7.60. I think that track's a little too small for the ROAR motor to really stretch it's legs though so I wentt to a Monster in the third heat and the main. It felt a little better to me, gearing was 7.04 .

In Madison I like the ROAR motor a little better due to long straight.

i was running 72/24, i ran 72/25 which the monster so i thought i'd go a little bit lower with the ROAR
