I've used the Crazy Nut 4 disc brake set up for our Mugens for 3 years now. Carbon fibre pads and hardcoated vented aluminum discs. i had a mchinist buddy, machine the top plates nicely for bearings and I put a drop of ca on the flange to keep the outer flange from rotating, thats when it wears.

I'm new to 1/8th scale. I think I made the right choice with the Prospec. Seems like there is a great wealth of knowledge here about it.

Can anyone help out with set-up ??
Track is long grass in a field, Well it's long enough anyway. Providing loads of grip, Traction rolling is a problem if i'm not careful. I'm new to 1/8th and the mugen is my first Nitro buggy.
It seems a really good car Anyway help with diff settings etc would be really appreciated.
I have looked to the mugen site but there didn't seem to be anything there suited to a grassed surface. Oh no jumps but there are some nasty "holes" in the surface, rabbits i guess ...............
Cheers Guys

i dont know about a grass setup but....
Does anybody know whether the new MBX5T front shocks are a direct bolt-on for the MBX5 buggy rear shocks? It sure would be nice to not ruin shock bodies every 5 weeks.....

I went back and looked at some set-ups. I moved the 2mm spacer for the lower front arm to the front. Big difference. It seems the harder you drive this buggy the better it goes!

Man its been a long time sense i have posted!
I have been lost on the down travel of the setup sheet.
It showes a rim under the chassis and it tells me full. It looks like the rim would stop the full travel of the arms. Is that what they are reaching for? Can someone make it easy on me and let me know the average A arm down stop by ground to chassis or mm's traveled.
P.S. I am looking at the Scott H. and Chad B. setup sheet.
Thanks a bunch

Full down travel means no limiting at all (controlled by the droop screws). The chassis tabs against the bottom of the arms are the limiters. The wheel under the chassis should be ignored.

In measuring the down travel according to a setup sheet you need to use the ride height guage under the hubs-with a wheel under the car chassis. When I go to full down travel I at least run the droop screws in until they contact the chassis and then give them another 1/2 turn or so. That way you don't bend driveshafts or even pop them out on a rough landing. Even seen guys rip the shock ends off...
