Well you've just had bad luck. It's a great way to save money IMO. He's bashing not going to the worlds, does it matter if it's an old kit? As Lon as he doesn't get scammed I believe it would be better than driving a rtr that is brittle and low quality.

Yea I bought a savage about a week ago off craigslist he said the owb just went so I couldn't hear it run but I pulled the engine and checked for compression all was well so I bought it. The engine was way out of tune and still isn't right, and my steering is super weak so I put I high torque servo but that didn't do anything, I don't have a servo saver to adjust so I'm stumped.

Just because some people have bad experiences with used engines doesn't mean everyone will.

I've bought used engines in the past and have been nothing but happy about all of them, and the deal I got.

Don't expect the engine to be tuned perfectly, the tunes you have to put on these engines change day by day even during the day because of changes in weather, location, etc.

I've never seen a Savage without a servo saver.

How about these?

One of them is less than $600 and receiver ready.
