Default Competition grade buggies

Hello all. I’m coming back into the hobby after 25 years. I’m looking for a list of race/competition level buggy kits and prices. After reading for the the last month I’ve found the below list. Please feel free to add to it. I’ve recently gotten my kids into the hobby with some entry level rc cars and this has rekindled my interests. I now want a kit to build with them for bashing and local racing. Are there any companies I’m missing?

sworkz
pr racing
tekno
xray
serpent

nope I’m the idiot. I named myself “trl” Matt instead of tlr Matt lol. Didn’t realize the typo now I’m stuck

anyways. My 5.0 was my first race rig and I love it. I’d recommend. Just go to your local track and see what they run. Seeing that atmosphere will tell you if you just want to bash or if you could see yourself at the track all the time. That will heavily influence your decision

Bashing and racing the same buggy will be tough, those are essentially opposite activities for the car. Making it good at one will sacrifice the other.

I have limited experience with modern race-grade but I just bought a used Tekno EB48.3 and I am very impressed with its machine-like build. I have no idea how this compares to the other buggies at the same level. Until this one, I was (and I am still) a Traxxas user because that is what my competition uses (for now).

My other race-grade experience was an RC10 way back before they earned the name "vintage" or "classic".

I know. It’s going to have to be fairly durable. Using that logic I’m leaning towards tekno and HB. Seems like my local track does mostly 2wd buggy races. They have several heats of those and just a few 2wd sct, and a few 4wd racers. I have always been a 4wd guy. So I’m looking mostly at the available truggies and buggies in 1/10 scale trying to make up my mind, and spend as little as possible.

Yeah, I had a Losi 22 2.0, it was a good car on carpet, dirt and bashing. Parts were getting a bit scarce but I made it work. I'm sure you'll find something, lots of good options out there.

I wish my local track did 1/10 scale 4wd truggy or sct races. right now they just do tons of 2wd buggy, some 4wd buggy and 2wd scts. I also with there was a 1/8 scale outdoor track near me. There is a serious lack of tracks in triangle area of central NC.

There's World of RC in Wilson. Outdoor, hardpacked clay, and they run 1/8 and 1/10. They haven't had any 1/10 truggy's to have a class, but the LIT series that races there is mostly 1/10 scale; 2wd/4wd Sct, 2wd/4wd buggy, and they added 1/8 ebuggy. Look through "SouthEast RC racing" on Facebook, you'll find more. I'm about an hour and a half from Wilson, and it's the closest one to me.
