Default Tamiya DT03 Neo Fighter buggy

This is a great reviewhttp://www.thercracer.com/2014/03/ta...build-and.html

Has anyone got one of these?

I know it is a basic car, but I only want one for racing with friends. They have the DT02 cars and they are great fun. I just wondered if the DT03 is better?

Thank you

They are better than the DT02 as you can hop them up more. They also have the longer wheelbase which is a mod that some DT02 guys make. (DT02 mods in the link)

http://www.thercracer.com/2013/10/ta...-and-tips.html

They also have proper carbon shock towers available etc, unlike the DT02.

Here is a couple of good reads for you.

Tamiya Club DT03 Thread

Modding and tuning a DT02

If it was me, I'd get a Sand Viper so that all of you have the same basic car. The Sand Viper comes with oil shocks and bearings. Add a few more mods and you'd have a nice runner.

My hobby shop has told me it should be here soon. Will it have bearings in the kit?

You'll need 14 1150 bearings.

This car is a great little buggy, we have started a little class where we all race these with the kit motor (There are 5 of us)

Would it be good to get the roll bars for this car? We are racing on asphalt (although there is a section that has gravel)

Thanks

We are also looking at running a spec class of the DT03 cars for the summer. Has anyone used the hop-ups yet?

I can't answer that, but I bet you could get an answer if you joined Iconic RC on Facebook. There's a large crowd of Tamiya fans, including several DT03 owners.

Right now i'm being busy with getting the car race ready, but first i need to paint the body to get the car finished.
The car will be used by my little girl, who will be driving this car in a junior series at the big final race (a race between the belgian and dutch drivers) of the 2014 season in september.
I will post some pictures ( in the next couple of days) when it's completed.
So stay tuned

Looking forward to seeing these

I have seen this, it has a lot of details on how to make the buggy better for racing.

I've already painted the body, but not sure what to do with the wing.
Propably i will be painting the spoiler the same way i did with the body.
Tomorrow or tuesday i will post some pictures.
