Default Battery Question

I use nimh in my 1/8th scale. Couple weeks ago i was going to race my buggy and the battery acted like it was dead. So i charged it, went back out and within 5 min it acted like it was dead. So i thought i was the battery. Today i went and bought one new. Charged it, it only took 100mah to reach full charge. I took it off,put it in my buggy to tune my engine, and same thing, within 5 min it was dead. I ruled out the switch, transponder, and both servos causing interference. I check the voltage on the battery and it was at 6.39 volts. I put my battery from my truggy, works fine. Is there something your supposed to do with new batterys or did i buy a fed up battery from the store and my old one was actually dead. or what. Please give me opinions or tell me something i did wrong cause my race is tommrow.

Thank you

We need more information to help you. What kind of 1/8th scale. Are you saying it is an electric conversion if so, what motor, esc, and mah batt. Or is it nitro and this is a receiver pack? Difficult to guess without some more details.

Can you drain the truck batt that worked & try & charge it? Is the charger jacked is what I'm asking.

For the best charge. Charge at .8 and if your charger is capable discharge your batteries every couple of charges. Always store your batteries fully charged.
