The Black bars are the stock ones, 2.3mm front and 2.6mm rear. The chrome ones are the option bars.

This is correct. Like I said, the front 2.3 is black. The rear 2.3 is the smallest chrome bar.

Default eight buggy or mbx5r

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone has switched from the m bx5r to the eight and thought they were faster or slower w/the eight.I had a mugen mbx5r then sold it when the eight came out ran the eight a few times and sold it. Now im thinking i didnt give the eight a chance . I ran my buddies a few nights ago and thought i was faster then w/my mugen. Not trying to start a flame war as both are great cars, just trying to get some honest opinions........

Hopefully soon. Last I heard was end of May. I have been waiting to purchase a motor until their box comes out. Then I'll buy a couple of servos, a backplate for my current motor, a transponder and the 8T to compliment my 8 buggy. Can't wait to see that bill. Ouch!! Really though, I'm aching to run truggy, I can't wait.

Howard beat me to it.

Has anyone overtightened the lock nuts on the rear outer hinge pins? those little *&%$&'s cause headaches for me when adjusting my ride height. Hard lesson there. Spent three weekends with the settings all jacked up.

air8 - One easy way to check the outer pins is to insert your wrench into the head and spin the pin, if the nut is too tight it will be hard to turn, and if the pin is bent, the hub will wobble really bad. Check that after every run.

bnmbh , I came from the Mugen camp as well as a few other Mugen diehards up here just to try it out. Two of us stayed and two of us, went back to the R. Both of the guys that went back to the R didn't try the Eight only one race night and just said they liked the Mugen better for certain reasons. But the more I run this Eight the better I like it. I am already just as fast or faster then I ever was with the Mugen. Just my $.02. You really have to run the car a gallon or so before you can make a good call on your personal preferences...
