Cutting your body at some arbitrary line and expecting it to be perfect is pretty ridiculous. That's where your problem lies.

i completely removed them. they are there just to keep the body from folding the nose down. the photo shown is the body sitting on the shock tower.

Do you have the lowered front shock tower on your RDX? That could be a reason your body is sitting on top of the tower. I have not tried the Rubber tire version of the body to know if a body mount adjustment is needed for the 2 bodies.

Your cut lines do look OK as they appear to be ones I may use. One thing I like to do when I mount a body is mount the body before I paint it. Then I cut out the wheels based on my ride heigth and tires I would be running. I also trim the body down this way. I never have cut out a body by the lines then mount. It seems some cars have a longer or shorter wheel base that may not line up with the body wheel lines.

Hope this helps.

Looks like someone needs to retake Body Mounting 101. NEVER cut on the lines. Full-race gear, mount the body, then trim. Something went awry with your program bud

I would also check the ride height of the car. How much are you running? Also are you running the lower front tower?

Default mounting

just wondering is your body hitting on your foam bumper if so you may need to trim your bumper some , i have the r9r on my 007 and it looks great nice and slammed and mine does have the indents for the shock towers

do not have the lowered front shock tower on the RDX, and what the hell are the lines for if your not to cut on them? i have been painting and cutting bodies for 16 years and never had this problem. and i hope i don't have to buy a 20.00 shock tower to run a 25.00 body. but like i said i will be mounting THEN cutting. and way it sounds off the lines.

on my 2 R bodies the hoods are flat. and the shock towers are stopping the body from hitting the foam bumper. i have the F body on the xray and it's like yours slammed.

i agree with cutting the body after it's mounted but if you have to follow the gbs rule then don't you have to cut on the lines? on the foam body the line is clearly marked gbs. also if the body is resting on the shock tower and he would have trimmed it after he mounted it, the front splitter would be very tall and that wouldn't be right either. he said that his hood is flat but the pictures of the r9-r seems to have bumps for the shock tower, maybe he just got a hold of a couple bad bodies.

Just a few tips for you. I used to trim on the body lines as well until I started racing. Hope it helps you out.

Get yourself an olfa circle cutter or similar. They really make cutting precise circles for your wheels very easy. What I like to do is whenever I paint a body for myself or a customer, I leave about a nickel sized piece of masking in the center of each wheel cutout (see pic below for example). This makes it easier when cutting out your wheel sections.

Do your side height trimming first, then look through those clear circles and mark a dot with your sharpie marker where the axles are. Take your tire diameter, add a mm or so, divide that in half and set your circle cutter to that size and cut out your wheel sections.
