Hello!

Thank you all for your kind words!
Finally my dream has come true!
I can't wait till the DHI cup that will start on friday.

The white body is a PF DNA body. I have been testing on foams as well as rubber tyres.

I'm 100% sure its a DNA...

Good luck to Jilles with his new ride, 2008 should be a great season for him!

I already told you in person but once again congratulations on the new ride. The new motivation alone should make this a year to remember!

Best of luck at all events starting with the DHI cup!

Hey Jilles,

Congrats on the move. Very interested to see what you and the rest of the team can do at the DHI.... 1,2,3,4 for Tamiya? you lot can sort the order out between yourselves... hehe.

I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who would like to know how the car cgoes with foams on too.

Cheers
Ed

Do you think there's some hope of getting the thicker parts required to make the car more capable on foams? With Hot Bodies offering an official foam conversion, you'd think Tamiya might do the same to keep maintain parity between the brands. I adore my 416, it's an amazing car. I'd love to see it make some inroads on the foam tire world.

Hey guys,

Jim,
Sure we will catch up at many races and talk about rc stuff!
I hope you enjoy being back at Trinity.

Thanks Tony, Joep and Rob!

Ed, Syndrome,
I have tested a little on foams and the car works great. I will be working closely with TRF and hopefully a thicker chassis will come for foam races as well a thicker topdeck.
The birds are in three weeks so that will be a close one.

I can remember that Paul Lemieux won Cleveland two years ago with a super standard XRAY and thin chassis so the 416 might be working excellent out of the box on foams.

Funny you should mention the 05 cleveland car while I had it in my hands. I would say great minds think alike but that would only pertain to you...lol

I can see Tamiya making a thicker chassis and upperdeck to appease us Americans, but that's about it. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if they did nothing at all since foam tire racing on carpet is such a small market for them globally. We Americans need to give up foam and just race rubber tires on carpet like the rest of the world.

While I agree with you entirely, and I race rubber tire whenever it's an option, sometimes foam is inevitable in the states. Thankfully, that's beginning to change. I imagine if I only do foams in the clubs where the traction isn't insane, the 416 could do just fine w/o a thicker chassis.

In the UK, there is only one track localish to me that races foams and that is in a tiny hall, I used a stock motor geared @ 9.0 there once, technical doesnt even describe it

I can see why people like racing foams, the grip and pull of the motor when its on rails is really good.

Hey Jilles,

Cheers for the reply. Hopefully we'll see you in the 416 thread
Nice to hear the car works well on foams as well as rubbers.

Good luck for the weekend. Any chance of posting your's and the teams setups after the weekend?

Cheers
Ed

Hey Ed,

We will do our best at the DHI.
I feel confident for the race as well as Viktor and Marc.

I will post my set-up after the weekend on the 416 thread.

Thanks,
Jilles
