That's right, I still own old CE Turbo 30, the available input parameter for cells are 1,4,6,7 cells. However, those are numbers for discharging only, and trust me, nothing to do for charging / repeaking. For instances, I can charge my 6 cells battery while the input parameter was programmed at 1 cell or even 7 cells. When discharging, then it will be different story. It required proper programming to safely discharge 1 cell or 6 cells.

Most chargers use delta peak detection for charging.

When discharging 5 cells ( .90 x 5 = 4.50 V ), you can manipulate turbo 35's input parameter to 6 cells @ .75V ( .75 x 6 = 4.50 V ).

Just think, in spite of all the people speaking out against this, someone out there in power is determined to make it happen so they can prove to you that they know better than anybody else what's right for the hobby.

Doesn't that make you feel all warm inside? :-)

/Obligatory complaint to keep things going.

...I noticed something STRANGE or FUNNY, or maybe IRONIC when reading this post.

There are guys that will say something like "WE CAN'T STOP CHANGE, IT PART OF NATURAL PROGRESSION" or something similar...but try to change a rule...and it's just the opposite response.

It's like as long as the CHANGE makes things faster...it's ok, but if somebody wants to cause the cars to go slower and maybe more under control...it's bad.

...just an observation~

This is just like giving the 20 million criminals amnesty... the people can bitch and moan but those in charge know better than you do and you should just shut up and like it....

LIPO is the future, but they still don't solve the problem that the electronics, motors, and drivers can't handle 7.2v. Speed controls will still thermal, and motors will still blowup.

So if the LIPO guys can come out with a 4.8v pack that might solve some the problems we are currently having.

So lets go with what we have 4 cell NIMH, start racing, stop complaining, and see what the future holds.

As long as its only the mod class that runs 4 cell, you do run mod, dont you?
I dont, and I'm happy with the speed of stock and 19t.I dont have motor or esc probs, why should I have to slow down, it does not efect you, does it?

I don't think Lipos are the future but they are next. Now just so U know I race off-road 2wd, truck, and 4wd modified. and I run 1/12th and TC onroad. the only reason I race TC is to use my 6cell packs during the winter instead of letting them sit. And Yes my IP3800's last a year or more and they still have excellent voltage and will run my mods for 12minutes using a 10t motor. Instead of going to 4cell why doesn't roar just allow lipo's to compete side by side with nm.
I raced against lipos powering BL cars and they aint any faster. So instead of a reduction why don't we just add Lipos and let racers decide that way.

I remember when the last rule concerning touring was put to vote, the rule lasted for a short time, it was the 10 turn limit. It turned out to not work like they wanted, yet the majority of those who voted wanted it and got it for that short time.

Was there a reason given not to have a 10 turn limit?

the 10 turn limit would have worked had there also been a timing limit too... like 18 degrees... you can forget it now however with brushless..

Well, in the spirit of testing, I'm gonna drag one of my sons 16 year old buddies to the track... never driven a car. Not only has he never driven, I'm building him a car, paying his entry fees and ROAR memberships for ONE RACE...

I'm gonna let him run 6 cells the first heat, and then 5, then 4 with a geared up (low wattage motor) of some kind. Something in the 30-40 watt range should do it. Let's see what the boy does for lap times and corner marshals.

Here goes nuthin' I'll be back Sunday.
