For those doing the JBRL

I have my first poll up on the JBRL web site.

quick link: http://www.jimmybabcock.com/2007_JBRL_Electric.htm

There are a couple other changes I know Jimmy may have us vote on. Stop by the site and give Jimmy your opinion. He is doing the series for us the racers. This is your chance to be heard.

Well, since my Browns (home of the greatest

running back of all time, Jim Brown!) didn't make it, I was

rooting for the Chargers. So, now it's the Saints and Patriots!

I like Tom Brady. BUT, Jason's rooting for the Saints and Colts,

so it could get "loud" around here tomorrow!

Yes, in my jammies and curled up on the couch with my

new blanket!!

Hopsing, your stuff is all packed and ready to go!

Casper, you're set too! Sorry they won't be arriving in the

"magic' purse, but it will be ready for the start of the JBRL!!

Ifmar starts are so much more "logistial"
They allow for 'true' Qualifying.
Heads up is just SOOOOO much fun.(speaking as an ex-motocross guy)
It puts the '1st turn' variable into Every 'moto' OR heat.
THAT is really a tough call.
Glad to see Jimmy and or (CASPER) taking the time to Ask us.
WE at FHR have been doing motocross starts with the qual position choosing starting grid line up(on SAT only)
Results have been GRINS and laughs at the first turn.
HOLESHOT award (of 5 track bucks) keeps people from 'Checkin up' on the start
I STILL think for MY vote, Im going with IFMAR starts.
It's a big part of what makes up R/C.

I just voted!

I have seen enough "heads up starts", I voted for Ifmar!

I want to see the fastest guys in the mains, not the lucky

ones who survived the bloody heads up starts!

My opinion, we still have limited freedom of speech

in this country!

You all need to go and vote!! Otherwise, you're a pinko-

communist!

There are two issues he is trying to address. He thinks it is more fun to watch races that are actually races on the track. This way people who stop buy to watch some races at any time of the day will actually see a race (not a bunch of cars running around on there own clocks) and second you save about 1 min per round running heads up due to the lag from the first to last car etc. It will make the days a little shorter. There is no doubt though that IFMAR is more fair. There were many races were qualifying spots were within a second or two last year in lots of the classes. Heads up makes those types close qual times harder. It will come down to us. Vote and we will see what happens.

I am not sure about getting stuff that does not come out of the magic purse! You may need to force scott to bring it down!

Ok that will never happend until it freezes over in Glendora. (oh wait that happened last week ) Ok monkeys fly!

We will miss you mom. I think I will root for the colts. I would like to see the Manning curse lifted so football can move on with something else to talk about. Brady has his fair share of rings already!

I would think that when we are racing for points (and a points fund), emotions could get too out of hand with heads up starts. Heads up starts are perfect IMHO for club racing, as it allows the racer to practice racing more. But in the big race where the actual race counts more, I don't think it would be very fun for some (myself included).

If heads up is adopted this year, I will for sure NOT be running any spec classes. It is WAY too easy to block someone in stock and 19T, unlike mod where one mistake and the other driver can zip by.

I also think that more penalties should be called this year for people who drive too "aggressive"

Actually, the magic purse ONLY works for me!!

And yes, it did freeze over in Glendora, one morning Scott

had ice on the car windows!

1. How many spectators do we get, compared to angry

racers and VERY hard feelings. Lots of money spent attending

all the races, everyone deserves a FAIR shot at the $$$$ and kits!

I spent time with spectators at several races. This is MORE

important than any thing else, talk to them, explain what's going on,

and how easy it is to start in the novice classes!

2. Saving time???? We're talking minutes here, not hours and hours! Want to

save me more time??? Let's race on Saturday!!!!! Let's make sure

we're all there and start on time!! Get the transponders returned, get

out there and turn-marshall, quickly, be on the ramp ready to race the

next race, those issues we can all help with and that really will save time.

Just my 2 cents, but I have lots of them!

IFMAR is winning by a lot. (ok only 13 votes in! ) I think the racer likes the cleaner shot at laying down the fast time.

Also as for talking to new people in the pits. Do not brag about how much money you have spent and tell them it takes $$$$$ to do this and have fun. Everyone needs to understand that most of us are looney to spend the money we do on our hobby. (I mean that in a nice way )

My point is that you can get into this hobby for a couple hundred bucks these days and have a lot of fun playing with an R/C car. Some of these people will come and race everyonce in a while but the majority of people just play with there cars. Do not scare away people telling them you HAVE to spend thousands on turbo 35's and $90 batteries and one run $25 tires to have run with these things. Let them know it is a great hobby and where to go and get a car to have some fun of there own!

It was nice seeing everyone at the track today especially Scot and Keith. Looks like a couple of us had some tough breaks. Would be nice to see you two there more often!

I just realized I totally forgot to give you those bushings...
I hope you got them at Socal...

It was good racing with you guys. I need to calm down a little in the mains, but whatever. I still prefer mod . Thanks for the help with the binding Ryan D. Turns out, the dogbone had a very small pin on it, and over the pin were flat bushings... I suppose this was to have less friction? Anyways, all it needed was a little oil and the bushings stopped binding... Thanks to Casper as well with the gearing help...

It's "gameface" time. Next time we all meet up will most likely be for something 'big'. Hope everyone had as much fun as I did today!

It was great to see such a large SD turnout! Thanks for making the drive guys. We may need to return the favor before the first round of the JBRL. See if I can get Steve B. down there since he got me on my home track!

Glad you all had a fun time. The track was hard. Lots of bumps and some fun jumps!

So what is the score of the SD vs. SoCal match...... I believe Banzai/Slingshot won 3 classes if I'm not mistaken......

Great to see all of you guys as it always is. Next match is at FHR in the near future, should be another great day!!!

James--Always good to see you, even better at the track....

Steve--It was great to see you pull out that win. I saw you let Casper by early in the race though. Never let a ghost by you, cuz you might not ever see him again....

Scott--As always, it's a pleasure running with you. Hopefully you and I can make it out a few more times before JBRL and Cactus. Afterall, I'm not that far away for "Old Dude" class....
