I think that Hacker have been doing brushless or a very long time, one of the pioneers so to speak.. although I have not run them yet, I would trust them to be a very nicely made well designed motor comparable to any others

I have a couple I got from IIC in LV this year and they seem pretty good to me. Would I say better, probably not, but on the same level as any other brand out there. I am currently running a Hacker 13.5 in my buggy and I have one of them in my sedans.

i am considering motors to run next year in modified...
something around the 4.5-5.5T
very curious to hear people's opinions of these motors who have raced them, as compared to say LRP and Orion/Speed Passion?

It appears that is the case. I would also look at the Trinity motors, very fast.

I am going to test a hacker this weekend. I have been using the Losi's and love them so far.

Hacker apparently is making Losi's motors for them. I have even heard that from Losi team guys as well.

HMMM....

From what I have been hearing the Hackers are very prone to burning out when exceeding 200 degrees while the Losi's run at 220 degrees no problem. My first time out with BL I was running a Losi and had the motor up to 225 degrees and it smelt real bad, but the thing keeps on going, and I field my car with that same motor and exactly year old batteries and I keep up with the fastest guys (on the straight at least). Mike Haynes told me something similar, that the Losi's are more resilient to heat then the Hackers.

My hacker did the same thing (altho not that hot) To make it run 160 or so, it was sloooooooooooooooow

IMO, novak still has the best 13.5 out, its the fastest, and runs pretty darn cool compared to my hacker.

so far i have seen that the trinity motors are very fast and can handle high heat unlike the novaks. the few hackers that i have seen are very fast along with the Losi motors. I just bought an Orion 2008 Stock 13.5 and so far it is very fast and stays very cool

The losi motors are great, they are the same if not similar to the hackar ones. I run the 3.5 losi and it has been one of the best brushless motors i own. I have tried the lrp and orion 3.5's and i prefer the losi over them.

It may be different with other peoples driving styles though, not sure, Also the motor runs better on a larger outdoor track i found, rather to a smaller one. I will definatly be getting a 4.5 Losi when i go lipo for racing:nod
The motors are definatly worth a go.

I'm an Orion 2008 13.5 user but I m not sure what's the max temp. They can handle and how good they are against hackers, novaks etc.???
Another thing is how long is their life?
how often you go for new brushless motor???
cheers guys

We have not had much sucess with them. out of 6 we have 2 were DOA out of the box. one started coging real bad. we had a couple pretty quick ones, but also my newest one I bought in vegas as an extra handout just made two runs and now the winding has come loose and rubed along the rotor.

So I would agree that the Novak seems to be a lot more dependable and cooler running motors.
