Thumbs up

Purple Mugen box works great and you don't have to grind the chassis unless you want to if you do it's not much.

TEN TEN - I use the blue OFNA box (it now comes with the chrome top). The wheel itself has been narrowed but my chassis has not been touched.

If the car is lined up correctly on the starter box, there's no reason any starter box wouldn't start the 8IGHT. WITHOUT grinding the chassis.

Steve Walters - I am running two 359's in my 8IGHT, and I am not sponsored by Airtronics. They may not be perfect, but since my servos are bought...I'll get what I think are best, and I'd be damned if someone told me I am incorrect for using them in that application!

Steve,
Thunder Tiger makes excellent high quality SAE hex drivers. A Main has them for around $27.00 set.

Wink

TEN, TEN,
That box will work fine. If you are on a tight budget then you might use the OFNA Compact. Several of us use it and it works great. If you raced electric then I would suggest just running two of your old 6 cell packs. I charge my old 3300s once for every 4 nights of racing and they do not care about the cold.
Hope this helps,
TEX

As far as servos, I have Futaba and Aitronics servos that are 10 years old. I have been swapping them from car to car for years, NEVER sent any back. have occasionally swapped out electrical leads myself and replaced gear sets, due to wear, but never have had a failure.

That said, I would run ACE, or Hitec, etc., if they are proven superior, or at least equal, but not because they were cheaper. When i'm spending $2000 on a gas car/truck, my last worry is saving $20 on a servo. I want to finish races and if I really was worried that much about money I might run a RTR and leave the stock gear in it. Rather then having a M11, Spektrum system, a good engine, $600 car, etc.

Get whatever equipment you think will not let you down.

jmo, Jim

Ten,Ten I use the same box to start my 8ight Tex posted. It works Good with 2 cheap 3000mah NIMH's in it. I did have to bevel the wheel a little and I raced the first weekend without beveling the chassis. I have since beveld the chassis though as it just makes life easier.

BTW who stocks the Losi Hex wrenchs??
