Presonally, I wouldn't do drop jumps. Eventually the off road cars will cause rips in the ozite.
The track on Theodore St. used to put down turf landing zones but this causes a big rebuild between classes and it is not practical to race/practice both on and off road on the same day.

We will have (2) permanent tracks. (1) CRC racing carpet for
On Road and the other will be Astro Turf for the off road track.

This could be interesting. Unfortunately, though only 1/3 the distance for me (20mi vs 60mi) the average drive time is about the same for me as heading out to LHR. I love Chicago suburb traffic... Definitely an exciting development.
On the flip side, the potential exists for me to take public transit, depending on actual location and just how much stuff I'd be trying to schlep. Scheduling could be a challenge too, but having something less frustrating than a drive would be awesome. Plus I could go in the winter - I pretty much only drive for road-trips or to races, and the aluminum goodies I have for racing don't take so well to road salt.
Of course, this whole post: first world problems! I shouldn't complain. Definitely keeping an eye on this.

What tha???
Do you guys even know whats going on in racing in the area? When was the last time carpet Oval anything was raced in this area?
First opening up at the end of indoor season....Second making 2 small tracks and not 1 larger track had me very apprehensive now to read Oval is being discussed I really have more apprehension then I did before. Have you guys even reached out to anyone that actually races carpet on a regular basis or is this coming off as it looks by just being slapped together? I hope Im off base but I have seen this all way too many times in the past....if you dont learn from the past you will repeat it. I guess only time will tell....
