How do you eliminate the plastic steering rod ends (A6046) from popping out of the ball stud sockets (A6050)?
Is this a safety thing that comes off on a hard collision?
Any modification tips? What hardware do you use?

I had the same problem last weekend. They just pop out after a hard landing...

I take it you are running a 1.0 chassis? The steering rod thing was fixed on the 2.0.
You need LOSA6050 balls and a LOSA6275 screw and this should keep your steering link from popping off.
Look here to see how the 2.0 changed.

As for gear mesh as long as the center diff wiggles you should be good. Make sure it is loose all the way around. Check it in a couple spots as the pinion may not be dead true and a little wiggle in one spot could be tight on the other side.
The Losi Xcelorin 4S batteries are awesome.

This is the track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrNb6GmAnGo You can do the quad at once, but only with brushless and there a chance that you land on the last jump. Anyway you need a strong car for that track. My Losi had a few thing that broke last weekend

I put a washer on the top side of the ball. I have only broken one spindle arm bit I think it was weak anyway. I had just installed new ones because of wear and landed a little sideways off a jump on a 1/10 scale track, it should not have broken as I have had much harsher crashes with zero breakage.

It depends here. The track and jumps are very big. Sometimes you even land on the upside of a jump :x

I 100% feel the steering ball ends should be captured....Not having them captured is asking for them to pop off and end a quali or race prematurely....the links will Not break from having them captured.

Is there such a ball end, I'd like to see if it would work for an 8ight.
#4559
yes the 2.0 parts are what you need...they did it right the 2nd time around.

Neat Track! You def wanna down side those jumps. Landing any other way is like throwing your car at the ground. I've had the 8ight nitro since it first came out in late 2006, and the 8ight E since it first came out too(I was teh FIRST in my area to get either). In all that time(and countless races), mine have popped off twice. It was due to a bad landing; either over shooting a jump or hitting something. It may have cost me a few laps, but it saved me from braking a turn buckle.
