Default Help Identify which RS4 this is.

If someone could tell me which RS4 this is? It's way old, probably early 2000s and I have two of them.

I think it's a RS4-2 because the RS4-3 reversed the layout. It also looks like it has Ofna spur gears/2 speed on it.

Thanks guys. Any tips on restoring? I planned on changing out the bearings and drive belts - adding a foam bumper too. In terms of Ofna gears, how can I know what my ratio to calculate what engine to get? Thanks.

throw any .15 engine in it.

Ebay has all the parts you need to restore it, how far you go restoring it is up to you.

I have been considering picking up a Nitro RS4 2 to resto-mod and leave it as a shelf queen...I cannot find a O.S. .15 engine with the gold low profile cooling head though.

I'm between restoring the old HPI engines I have in storage from this car or rebuilding the OS 18cv-r that was on it. Worst comes to worst I think I would just get a new OS! for 110$ I can't beat it.

definitely a Nitro RS4 2. You can easily find new belts on ebay. Search A847, A848, and A849 for belts.

Manual is here: http://oldrc.com/HPIFiles/NitroRS42.pdf

I have a fully modified Nitro RS4 2, but after getting back in the hobby I'm not sure I want to drive it again. Finding small pulleys seems like they're impossible to find if you don't buy a roller.

Does anyone know if these parts are compatible with the NRS4-2?

Might be an original RS4 racer edition because of the purple chassis but the upper arm links look like RTR pieces. I still have my RS4 and Pro2 and don't wanna use it from fear of breaking it and not finding parts.

Yea the more I look the less I find
I wish there were affordable nitro kits available to build - something like the Sakura/3Racing cars but nitro.I'm DYING to build a kit, so damn expensive though.

putting a Traxxas engine into an HPi is like putting a Chevy engine in a Ford....you get beat up for things like that.

I find clean Nitro RS4's on Ebay all the time.

There is a brand new nitro mini RS$ on there right now, and multiple brand new Nitro RS4 2's. There was even a brand new Nitro RS4 kit that is still unbuilt for like $380
