European Touring Car Championships 2004
#16
All I am saying is that it is interesting to see belt cars going so well on all tracks. For the longest time all I heard from racers is how good shaft cars are.

Following the EFRA postal vote the rule regarding touring car bodyshells is as follows: - Touring car (Sedan) style bodies, 2 and 4 door versions allowed as raced in International and National 2 Lt Touring Series, plus FIA Group N cars.

Regarding bodyshells
from the approved list I think the Protoform Stratus1 and Vectra are the one that will be used.
The MG was on the list also but I´m not sure if this one really will be allowed. The Alfa2 was on the list one week before the Euros but then there was the decision it won´t be allowed. Maybe the same for the MG.

AFAIK Alfa 2.0 hasn't been on the list since it was last updated on May. Some drivers tried to get it approved some days before the race but failed and so it's only current EFRA list that is allowed, including MG.
I agree that Stratus 1.0 and Vectra are the most used used ones. I guess that it's going to be ~ 70-80 % of Stratus 1.0, 0-2% of something else (maybe) and rest uses Vectra. Stratus 1.0 might even have a bigger slice. EFRA list is way too limited and we face this issue almost everyday in some discussions here. Last national race here in Finland had ~ 95% Stratus 1.0 and then rest Vectra.

laptimes dropped a bit in the second round and times overall went down by about 3 seconds.
There is no official result available yet but I copied this from the result from each of the heats.
second round went in this order
1 J Groskamp Netherlands (NL) 17 - 5.13.16
2 M Rheinard Germany (DE) 17 - 5.13.90
3 T Leino Finland (FI) 17 - 5.14.24
4 S Graversen Denmark (DK) 17 - 5.15.03
5 A Widmark Sweden (SE) 17 - 5.17.72
6 V Wilck Sweden (SE) 17 - 5.18.38
7 J Kaerup Denmark (DK) 17 - 5.18.53
8 M Hudy Slovakia (SK) 17 - 5.18.82
9 H Hönigl Austria (AT) 17 - 5.19.22
10 J Andersson Sweden (SE) 16 - 5.01.43
11th place went to David Spashett with just 0.02 sec behind 10th place. David had a DNF in the first round.
As it seems Jilles Groskamp, Marc Rheinard and Teemu Leino are the drivers to beat. Steen Graversen improved in this round.
Current Eurochamp Juho Levänen (TC3) seems to be not very fast currently but remember last year. There is seemed the same most time and in the end he did win.

Uhm .. V12, where do you get those results? David was 13th, not 11th in 2. qualifying. Here's the results from 1. and 2. qualifyings:
There's total of 6 qualifying heats and points from 4 best heats are taken into count. Time doesn't matter, just position from each heat. All 6 qualifying heats will be driven with same tire set.
EDIT: Only 3 from 6 are taken into count, not 4 as I stated above, sorry!

I´m sorry it was a mistake from me. There was no update with results from any website until late in the night so I did a list of my own from the results of the heats but I missed the results from Pumpler and Nilsson. Thanks for correcting this.
Despite this I hope David will do it better in the other heats. He did have a very disappointing Euros last year and I hope he will be in the A-Final this year again.

I just have deleted all the results I have posted from 4th and 5th round as I´m pretty unsure what are the real current standings. I got informations from 3 sources and all of them were completely different. Even at the official website there were some results which aren´t available any longer.

Regarding bodyshells most drivers are using the PF Stratus 1.

Thanks PW.
I hope I will get more information later. But it´s annoying sometimes if there are some different results published and you don´t know which are right or wrong. I hope this won´t be again.
