What are the track demensions? Got a pic of the layout?

On your motor what is coming off? The plastic cap?

Mike, are you getting all led's flashing on your RS once you've calibrated it? What transmitter?
I know Mike has the Ko helios.

He is using the Tekin Redline 10.5

Default Tekin RS PRO with Novak 17.5

HI guys,

I'm gearing my Novak 17.5 @ FDR of 3.46 (75 spur / 35 pinion) with an Xray T2 007 EU. Track is Fantasy world (large open track). Would this FDR work? What if I pay with timing, would this gearing work?

Im not sure how the novak's like to be geared in comarrison to the Duos and Redlines, but that seems to be geared a bit too tall. With my redline, I was geared around 5.0. With my Duo, I have been running 4.2. But with the realease of 200, and all the advice to gear down even a bit more, I am now running 4.5 with my duo. If I were you , I would certainly bring a larger spur just in case 3.46 is way over-geared. Look up Mark Cavanag when you get to the track... im pretty sure he is running a novak 17.5.

See ya Sunday

Edited: Also a almost 2 lap per race increase

V 200 test with 4.5 ... Part 2...
Now on a large track.
Track can be see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K83pmhO2O8
is used mainly for 1/10 IC, but also 1/8 have a chance, now some electric car start to show there.

This time, I prefer save my race unit,Tekin 4.5, and use an LRP 4.5 instead,
Losi Jrx-Type R, Tekin RS (V200) --Fan on the motor, fan on the esc and an extra capacitor 16V 2200

First run, tyres at 60/59ish, turbo timing 6, turbo boost max, delay 0.5sec.

Gear: 94/18 (can't go any lower than that...), damn short as gear, but I use this tun to learn the track. Motor was 64Celsius after the race.

Second run, same tyres, geared 20/98, motor ends at 74 Celsius, speed was decent but not fantastic.

Third run, new tyres, 22/98 turbo 5 turbo boost max, delay 0.5sec.
I was searching top speed, found it, but loosing infield punch.

Fourth: geared down back to 20/98 (sorry... lost the 21 somewhere...), same Tekin setup.

They had a laser gun, so they can catch my speed in the main line: it was a good 77kmh, with the car being pleasant all around, a good infield and good line.

motor war in 75 celsius, and I've 5 led on the esc

Side comments:
1) for the first time I didn't get the "softy" second half...

2) there was with me some 10.5 guy. This guy is normally a strong contender in this class. Last race, the guys in the modified class qualify in 20 laps, but also the first 2 guys of the 10.5 have had the same 20...

In the main line, I was 77kmh, he was 74..... just 3 kmh less!!! This is amazing! He was running a Novak motor, with the SPX as esc. He was using their "turbo" shifting... The feeling is like the motor revs up... then keep revving.

When we were running, I have some advantage in the infield due a better lower torque (and Losi traction...). but in the main line...

I wish I could have his revving revving revving thing in my car...

Suggstion are welcome!!!

Why not let boost come in quicker? If you gear light enough you can top your motor out a lot faster than .5sec.

I understand you could really bog a motor down if you put too much timing in too quick. But can't we just gear lighter and turbo quicker?

Also, from when turbo hits, how long does it take to hit full timing?

The speeds with a 10,5 are higher than it was before with the new stock speedo's.
When you put a 10,5 in it you will see it.
Don't mes up the Timing Boost and Turbo Boost.
"turbo 5 turbo boost max, delay 0.5sec" The first you meant Timing boost.
The top speeds of a 10,5 on 5 cell are above the 77km/h.
The 13,5 and 10,5 lipo are above the 80km/h.
It depends on how long the straight is.

On my home track the difference between the mod times and the stock times are almost 0.
It's now only 0,12 Sec difference.
