i think you have to use that thermal adhesive stuff

Put the thermal adhesive all around the peltier, under the heatsink and clamp, but not between the peltier surfaces. Wire up the fan and put connectors on and your ready to go. Apply a little bit of pressure while it dries. Don't clamp down on it in a vice, just set something on top of it.

Let me get this clear, You put the thermal adhesive around the edge of the peltier or on the cold or hot face of the peltier?

I'm asking you because I built one of these, and use thermal silver epoxy to glue the hot side of the peltier to the heatsink and the cold side to the clamp. It was working beautifully for a week or so and then it just wasn't cooling as before. It drop from like 18 deg f to like 70 deg f for no apparent reason. I stop using it as it wasn't effective enough.

How well does it work in celcius?

For some reason I have two of them degrading in performance. I didn't think it was neccesary using thermal paste as I was using the thermal epoxy to hold it together.

you can find it at frys electronics or a computer components store

... How much did it cost to build? My only option right now is putting my heatsink in the freezer. It doesnt keep cool very long either. Maybe saltwater in the freezer with the heatsink in it.
