Default Help IDing this Tamiya buggy.

This my Father-in-laws and we are looking to clean it up and maybe get it running. If you have any leads on tires and a body that would be a great help as well.

Rough Rider gets my vote.

Tamiya re-re'd that model some years ago. Not sure on compatibility between old/re-re for the parts you are asking about. I'm sure someone on here will know more.

It's a Rough Rider. It was re-released as the Buggy Champ

I believe Kamtech made a lexan shell as well. It's based on the SRB platform, so it share a lot of parts with the Sand Scorcher as well. I found a ton of parts on e-bay, both vintage and re-issue, to get my Scorcher running. It's a lot of fun running it on the beach. Good luck on the resto.

It looks like it got rear ended pretty good!

Yes, definitely a Rough Rider, Tamiya kit 58015. It looks to be an mk2 version with an aftermarket rear cage, but very complete, a great find! The rere (called Buggy Champ) parts generally work. The rere body kits can be found for around 40 bucks. I just picked up one on ebay a week or two ago as my next project. Have fun with it!
