Default active rear suspension

Korey:

Hi! Seems like you have tons of experience with the car already. Have you tried it with the optional active rear suspension?

For those who have tried active rear suspension... is this beneficial for handling? Will it make the car faster? More drivable?

It will be coming eventually, but I personally don't think it will be needed on 85% of tracks, The car is that good anyway

Default D07 Front belt wear and tear

Has anybody else had any issue/s with the front belt getting worn from making contact with the pinion (grub screw end)?

Out of the 4-5 people i personally know with D07 it appears I am the only one that has had this issue. I had my belt on same tension as most of these people mentioned.

Some of us have the same brand of pinion gear too. The grub screw itself was sticking out from the pinion in the slightest amount possible, so slight you would never think of it being an issue. When installed the pinion is around 3-4mm away from the belt. Problem for me now is that the worn belt caused some slipping and now the alloy pulley has wear on it.

When I put new belt on, I changed to a different brand pinion and although wear is now minimal i can still see some wear on it which i suspect is from the worn pulley now. Doh.

Just wondering if anyone else has had something like this happen to them and if its something i've done wrong.

Check your pulleys and spool incase they're caked with fuzz.

You could also try tightening the belts so there's less slack for them to wobble into the pinion.

It is a close fit on my mod car.

Anyone have a 17.5 high traction carpet setup they are willing to share?

Final decision between this and the Xray is coming in the next few hours. I'm leaning to the VBC for a few reasons:
1. It's not an XRay (everyone drives those)
2. Price is almost $100 cheaper (here in HK where I will pick it up)
3. Grey and red looks amazing.

My 12 year old son raced the D06(with D07 plastics) on the weekend in the IMCC CUP Australia and came 2nd in the 21.5 class. These cars are pretty good and the D07 is even better.

We normally race outdoors, but petitrc have carpet setups.

When I get home from the office I'll post one up. It's a good starting point.
