Very true! Especially without any type of slipper clutch. Absolutely nothing to keep it from spiking like that on high traction. I don't know about any of the technical stuff with the HV 4.5 on 2s, but on the track they perform amazingly and come off the track super cool. It's working for tens if not hundreds of people in these trucks!

Thought I'd share my experience on my first day out at the track (practice)with the Jammin.
I'm running HV5.5 and slash rear offset M3 bowties.

This truck drives great after getting used to it. I feel like I can turn inside anybody even with the wider stance tires. I think I may even try the front offset wheels to help it with stablility.. I have so much steering, I'm willing to give some up. I hope this will help with traction rolling.

The nose kept dropping on jumps, more than in air throttle could fix. I learned I have to punch on approach and roll off but keep some throttle in the air. I may experiment with adding some lead weights in the rear. Don't know if that will help, but worth a shot.

Our track has both 8th scale and 10th scale lines. It handles the 8th scale line no problem, but definitely is no 8th scale buggy. I think I tried to push it like it was one, hence traction rolling. I added negative camber and dropped my ride height which help some.

Started out with 13T but that was too slow. Didn't have a 14T so bumped up to 15T which I think was just a tad bit too much. I picked up a 14T which should be the sweet spot. I can't imaging driving this light of a truck with an HV4.5.

So my next setup changes are gonna be 14T, front offset wheels and maybe a neutral diff oil setup 5/5/5 (like my buggy ).

This will be my setup going into my next race day whenever that is...

Oh, and I broke the front bumper support, front/rear body post towers today.. on the 8th scale line with wind. Won't do that again...
Still love my Jammin tho.

Has anyone tried a 10.5? I think my 10.5 is a 3750kv. What pinion should I start off with?

How large is the track you run at as that will play a key role in where you start your gearing selection? Worst case scenario, start with 13/46 run it for a minute or two and temp it? If she is cool then you can begin gearing up if you feel the top end isn't where you want it to be. I have not seen anyone running a 10.5 in their's yet so let us know how she performs, especially in the torque department. I ran a 10.5 in my SC-10 and it was fine little motor. Your setup is a bit heavier but you will have twice the traction I did...is that a motor you have lying around, if so, run it, otherwise refer to the volumes in this thread to help direct your motor selection efforts!

Ive run a 10.5 and it works OK.

It has no torque. But is decently fast.

I recommend a 10 tooth.

I'm still waiting on someone to chime in on Tekin Sensored Redline motors. I think I have a 9.5 rights now. I may get a 6.5 or something. Being sensored, I would think torque would be okay. Does anyone know for sure?

Do you have an RS to go along with the 9.5? You would be down on power compared to others with HV style motors otherwise, but if you have hotwire and v203 the dynamic timing boost works wonders for temperature and power output.

I believe Ty from Team Tekin is running that 6.5 setup in his Jammin. Reach out to him for more insight and Hotwire settings!

I think most folks on this thread are running some sort of 1/10th ESC coupled with an HV motor or they have opted for a 1/8th setup across the board (ESC/Motor/4S). From what I can tell, have yet to run mine with RS Pro and HV 4.5, these cars can handle some serious power!
