Default Avid brakes

has anyone tried these brakes? worth buying or keep stock?

also, I read on their site as follows. Talking about removing the padded material. I have not messed with the brakes on my losi that much and im wondering what its talking about??

copied from avidrc.com:
Installation: In order to use these discs you must remove the padded material off of your metal pads (your removing the pad that you usually have to glue onto the metal pads). So when you build your brake setup it should be the metal pad touching the Avid Indo Phenolic brake disc and nothing else. We suggest that you build the brakes with a 0.5 - 1.0mm of play so when the car is at neutral your brakes are not engaged.

You will find more feedback in that thread.

What it means is that you will use the disks with just the metal pad, the padded material is not needed. As soon as you see the brake pads you'll understand what it's talking about.

Avid disks are the bomb! no fade even over long mains. They last forever, and a lite sanding brings them back to new. They even work well if you get fuel on them by accident

Yup, used the Avids and they are some of the best ones I have used. Last a long time too. Speaking of which, I think I need to get a set or two for my
RC8T. Knew I forgot to get those.

The losi brakes are the best, they were a running change so I'm not sure which ones you have.

I agree Avid breaks are really good but not as good as the updated set from Losi.

They also shave close .5 oz of weight if your using the stock metal disk.
