Best starter box for 8T

I have about 6 boxes and the Ofna wins hands down. It is also a full size case. Alot of boxes say that it will work with sticks or a gel cell. Then you go to put a gel cell in and have to mod it to fit. Not with the Ofna. It will recieve a gel cell nicely.
Dynamite Quick Fire - I had two problems with this box.
1. I barley got the gell cell to fit.
2. It took a lot of force to trigger the wheel. I could snap some plastic before the wheel would engage. This was fixed by cutting the springs down about 2 coils.
*power switch
*12volt bannana inputs
AE #1750 - This would be my second choice
Only one motor but plenty of torque. Gell Cell was a tight fit. I really like the way they did the post that hold the car. It worked fine on new motors that were very tight, like the Go's and NR's.
*No power switch
These are the only ones that I can speak of for 1/8 since they are the only ones I have personally tested.
+10 on the Ofna Truggy Box

I like my Truggy box because it has a ton of power and it's been reliable.
Didn't like my Losi 8/T box because the motors blew up. The only reason I even considered the Losi box was because I have both the buggy and truggy.
But I did manage to get my OFNA Truggy box to work with both, so I gave the Losi box away..
The only box I'd say is more reliable than the Ofna Truggy box is the Ofna Chrome Top because it's direct drive (no belts to slip).

I use the 8ight box also - it is just too easy to set up the alignment. I did, however, rewire it and upgrade the motors to crawler 55turn motors and I run a 14.8 lipo. It will turn over anything now!
I am going to try the Ofna Truggy box though...

i love my truggy box.
i think the only thing the losi box is good for is starting both buggy and truggy.
if you have one car there is no reason to buy a losi box and re wire it + put new motors...just buy the truggy box, take the 15-20 mins to set it up and never look back.

I started on Gel cell in the losi box...puffed the motor's......got some 55t Integy's and a 4 cell lipo....worked...but imo not fast enough......so i went back to the stocker's and 4 cell....No problems since....and i got 2 other buddy's doin the same.....so imo the motor's aren't weak....they just need lipo power to overcome most tight race motors....and obviously a pit man with 1/2 a brain to start the thing the right way.

ofna truggy w/lipo & losi 8 box w/gell for back-up..i have a 2700 mah 14.8 lipo in my truggy box but still resort to the gel in my losi box on occassion...i had lipo in my losi box but at times prefer the gels weight and more standard power...

iv tried to put 12v motors in the losi box...you can make it work but for the time it takes believe me the ofna truggy box on lipo is the key...If you search losi box mod you should find pics of integras mods to his box with lipo and upgraded motors...I have been thru 3 sets of losi motors in the past season and that really sucked..when this losi box kicks it il put traxxas titan motors in my losi box...i have seen a half dozen or so guys do this and been going good for about a year..the losi box is pretty convenient but the truggy box like was already said is hands down a bomb box...w/lipo or gel youll be very pleased...
