You are not crazy. Team Associated showed some real attention to detail when they sold the lipo cradle. I had to shim the posts up probably 6-8mm to get the top plate on. Hooray for Associated! That Reedy 5100 pack was supposed to be designed in conjunction with Associated's Lipo cradle. If you call the and tell them what you have, they will treat you like you are retarded. I waited for 3 months to get the Associated Lipo cradle. I purchased the 5100 and it sat the whole time. I was so mad after this whole mess that I put the car up for sale. B44 with 5100 lipo (never ran), Novak 6.5 Motor, spare parts for $325.00 and it has never sold. Can't blame people for not wanting a B44.

Unsure about how they work with Reedy Lipo's, But the Diggity Design carbon fiber brace kit works real nice with Trakpower 4800 saddles which should be real close in dimensions to Reedy.

Instead of using the thumbscrews, try using longer bolts and washers. That's what I do with maxamps...

Thats weird... My SMC 4900 is actually a little too small! I have to use velcro so that it doesn't slide

i had the 5100 ae lipo and the ae lipo cradle and it works great. i used the stock thumb screws and i have not had a problem yet. i was really happy about how good the lipo fit in the cradle. it was perfect!

a little common sence goes a long way.

the post will be shimmed up 2 mm with the lipo trey. Then you can use longer screws up top with a cone washer to hold down the strap.

I run the chekpoint lipos in my car and all i had to do was back out the allen set screws some and put some blue locktite on them to give the thumb screws a little bit of bite on the threads. I believe my set screws are only 2 threads into the post to give the correct lentth. I am also useing the carbon straps.

Call Team Associated and tell them that a little sense goes a long way. I stated that the Associated Lipo cradle and the 5100 lipo were supposed to be designed to work together. Associated/Reedy? They do not work together. They do not work together. Again, they do not work together. The posts do mount 2 or 3mm higher. Still not high enough. I had to take a chassis mounted ball stud from a Carpet Knife, and cut the ball off and add it to the posts. I also used longer screws through the chassis to mount the posts. I didn't pay $135.00 for the Reedy lipo and another $25.00 for the Associated lipo cradle so that I would have to modify it to work correctly. I could have bought the Diggity cradle and another lipo brand just as easily and I would have had the car to the track much quicker. I held out for the All-Associated/Reedy setup and ended up with a headache.

If you did like i said in my post and loosen the set screws on the top of the post and locktited them in the correct position everything would fit with the original screws and lipo mount there are 5 people local that all run that same setup with no aditional parts.

take a pic of your car and post. My craddle hits the rear center drive shaft. I have it spaced up and it still does not clear. Please take a pic of your car.
