The Losi 3.4 is a great engine, tons of torque for its size. It's loud, though. If you're considering the Dynamite .19, also consider the HPI Nitro Star G3.0; it's hands-down the quietest nitro engine I've ever run, and it makes good power if you break it in carefully. I can even run it near my apartment building without pissing off the neighbors. The Dynamite .19 might be just as quiet, I dunno, but being rear-exhaust I'm guessing it's not. (I haven't heard a quiet rear-exhaust engine yet, no idea why.)

Nice truck.. Does the small engine really have enough oomph, to wheelie for ex.?

Shame you can't get a backplate on a good .21 race engine.. Alpha A852 for ex. Or gear up enough for a screamy .28. Actually, an old silver Mach 427 would probably be ideal..

Don't really care about the wheely aspect but it should be fast, have you seen my small block savage and my previous small block lst they both screamed , I know a big block would be I deal but im about doing what doesn't wanna be and doing it well

Wheelies are not a top priority for me either, and for nitro engines I prefer screamers to stump-pullers, but IMO an MT's gotta' be able to wheelie...

Nice.. How is it on top end? Savages wheelie easily. My fave engine in a Savage was a Sportwerks .26. Screamer...

It's crazy how there isn't really anything between a .19 and a .28 for MT's. An Alpha .23 for ex. would be perfect for a lighter MT.. Or maybe a Werks B6 with tons of top end..

The Losi 3.4 is essentially a stroked .18 (same bore, longer stroke), so it's got lots of torque but it huffs and puffs at redline. It's good for vehicles that you want to be able to pull rolling wheelies but you're not concerned about crazy speed. I have one in my Bullet ST and it's almost too much power for that truck.

It's made by the same OEM that makes the TRX 3.3. The carburetors and backplates are even interchangeable; you can put a Traxxas EZ-start on it, no problem.

I dont think its the same company the carburetor is made better and ive never had a connecting rod splin in half on the 3.4 like the 3.3 and the backplates aren't an exact match plus the 3.4 block is slightly wider

I'm also skeptical they're the same. Losi always had their engines from the same company that makes the SH, LRP, Nosram, Dynamite, Mach, Losi(454 and 350), etc.. engines. The Traxxas engines are from somewhere else entirely afaik. They also have a reputation for being horrible, unlike the engines listed above.

I don't know for sure that the 3.4 is from the same factory, but I would be very surprised if it's related at all to the Traxxas engines.

If they're not from the same factory, then they're built to the same dimensions. I wouldn't have said it if I hadn't swapped parts back and forth just to prove to myself that I wasn't imagining things.
