Please, God, no pull-start engine mounts like the "Racer 2"...

It shouldnt matter whether the cells are 2/3A or AAA. If both have the same mah and both have the same charge they will both last the same length of time. I have been using AAA for a while now even in my Yokomo and have no problems getting a full days racing with 30min main.

But nobody uses the 700mah that comes for the Serpent or Mugen. Most people use GP 800mah cells. Any they are a lot lighter than the normal flat packs (dumpies).

If peoplea re having problems getting through a days racing with AAA's then they are either not charging them enough or they are fast-charging them too much and the cell(s) are done.

Cool.

The R40 looks like a nice car. It looks really low compared to some cars which is an added bonus but I would like to see one in the flesh before making any actual comments on it. But to be honest, a lot of the details on this car are he same as I have been designing lately for my hybrid car which is nice to see. Shows they are thinking about a racing car . But I still have a card up my sleeve and it is being kept there until the car is set on the track for its first race.

But when that is I dont know. Could well be the Paris Memorial later this year or the Winter Nats next February (which I will be attending 100%).

yep..i'm glad to see a nice car too...looks like they put some effort into it......and one good thing about HPI...they do,and will, admit something is wrong....AND change it if needed..quickly..

I think we'll see a great car..by the amount of work that went into this car(AND the PRO4),you can see they are serious about it...

I will add this to my stable.....

Default R40 - weight issues

Bit of interesting news...

The new R40, in standard production trim (ie race-ready, inc. engine, body etc), will weigh in at a mighty 1950g, and that's no typo. Apparently the two-speed assembly has been over-engineered in a quest for reliability, and the new clutch actually weighs more than the Proceeds. Make of this what you will. The infomation is reliable as it has come straight from the mouth of someone "within the ranks". I'll say no more...

If it will really weight as much as you say it will certainly need a .15 size engine to be able to keep up with the MTX-3 or the heavier Serpent 705. This weight is going to be the biggest disadvantage of the new R40. They have some time to reduce the weight till they release it in production "hope they do"
