Ninja jx21B01A or Reedy 121?
I am trying to decide on a nice .21 engine upgrade for my Losi 2.0 buggie. I would like to stay under $400.00. I have been comtimplating about which one of these two engines would be better: the ninja 21 or the reedy 121. I would like some feed back from racers that have ran these engines so that i can make my mind up. Any other suggestions that compare to these engines would be very helpfull. Points i am concerned with are: run times, depenability, and flat out horsepower that is delivered smoothly. Please help me make my mind up.

I have the JX and love it, I also have the MR ninja, and love it too. I have a plus 4 as well but haven't even broken it in yet, so no opinion on it other than what I have seen. All of these engines are good including the Reedy, however the three factory sponsored drivers in our area seem to be getting 9.5 minutes out of them, and they seem to like to run at a very specific temp. (about 270) Considering you can't get either one very easily right now, I would go with the plus 4 as there are places you can find them.

6mm restrictor and a good tune on that Ninja and you can pit at 10min. Just did it yesterday.
If I did not love my Ninja so much I would be all over the Nova plus 4

Its too early to ask about the Reedy. It had a short production run the first time so not many people have them. I have one of each, the Reedy is super smooth but you have to be a great tuner with it. The Ninja is extremely easy to tune but the bottom is not as smooth as the Reedy. The Ninja also runs at lower temps compared to the Reedy. The Reedy motor has more of an "electric" feeling to it. I was also getting 9.5 mins of run time on a 8mm carb insert. Its really 50/50 on these two. I like the Reedy more because of how smooth it is and you can roll into the trigger faster. But you also cant go wrong with the Ninja.

Running a P3 and 30%(easy reliable tune), I can run out of fuel at anywhere from 11-13min depending on the track. Plenty of room to pit at 10min without stressing out.
