Can anyone tell me what you are doing for a E body? I mean are you just heating it up to fit, or are you finding 8ight E bodies?

If anyone has a lock on a 8ight E body will you let me know? I can't seem to find one any place!

Thank you!

The size and specs for all those batteries is at the bottom of each one's listing. The specs for Losi's battery tray is online as well.

A little history first....I have always run electric but the nitro bug bit and i made the switch. It's really nice being able to run for 30+ minutes only pulling in the pits to check temps. This past weekend a buddy of mine let me run his 8TE and i was blown away by the speed and consistency. He was running the 1300kv losi motor with mamba max esc and 6s maxamps packs. The truggy cleared everything and instead of double double i would quad it. Our track has alot of jumps that happen right after a turn so the nitro's have trouble making them if you dont swing wide, the elctric could go in tight and still clear them all. After running the truggy he mentioned he was selling all his brushless stuff so i bought it. I am now wondering what's out there for quick change battery set-ups and what the most efficient motor battery combo i could run would be.

Cliffs: Drove a 8TE...shortly after i bought it
1300kv motor
Mamba max esc
5000mah 6s maxamps
geared low and motor never got above 122
Cleared everything with ease, beat all the nitros (they werent happy)

We run 20 minute mains so im trying to figure out what i need to do to stay competitive with the nitros (battery change) and get the best runtime possible while maintaining the speed.

That setup should run 20 minutes with no problem.

Rhino, so your saying the jconcepts body clears your battery packs? My 8-E bodies keep breaking either the front or the rear. What size pack do you run? I run 6S 3300 for buggy. If I remember correctly your a 4S runner.

The new Losi 8-E bodies seem stronger now that they are made a bit longer for the 2.0. I had been experiencing a lot of body cracking like you guys, but after cutting the body mounting holes longer to allow for more chassis flex, I eliminated this problem.

I ended up breaking the hard case open so I could figure out what's going on. It's works fine now with the new connector.

As for power and run time. It will run for 20-23 minutes in my 8ight E. It performs exactly the same as the 4900 20C rhino pack I got. 1 cell was always a little low, and it has begun to puff. I'm pretty good with my batteries, always keeping them charged, balanced and never running them down too low. So if it goes poof, it wasn't due to poor care.
What motor/esc is that with?

I'm looking to last 15mins, with the losi esc and 2100 motor in the e2.0, is the losi pack likely to give me that? Will it at least give 10 mins?

Hi,

Just painted my bodyshell in two hours yesterday. You'll find some photos attached I'm just learning airbrush ... and shadows are not really nice ! but anyway that will do the job, will put some stickers on it later on today to make it look more sexy .

I'm missing the servo (still on going from USA to my house in snail mail !) and the lipo.

Got two possible choices, but don't know how much amps the losi 2.e stock combo (2100kv motor) - 4S setup will draw. Anyone got this information ?

That would help me to size the number of C of the lipo (For example, I got a 4S 2200 25C (40C burst) in my desk ... that would allow me 22x2.5 = 55 amps ... and 88 Amps burst ... but i'm quite sure that 55amps is not enough.)

Hesitating between:
- ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 4S1P 30C
- Rhino 4900mAh 4S 14.8v 20C Lipoly Pack

Rhino is 10 USD lower in price..; but provide (a bit) less capacity and less C ... so I'm assuming that it's better quality ? but will 100amps be enough?

Thanks for your kind replies

Cedric

If I buy the Losi 8ight 2.0 1/8 4WD Buggy Race Roller (nitro) together with the Losi conversion set (LOSA0912), is this the same as the 8ight-E 2.0? Or are there any more differences between these two? Because I can't order them allready here in the shops.

I think I can help. The e-buggies use the same platform as the Nitro. So the answer to your question is "Yes." The setup might be a little different on the 8ight-E from the factory but all the parts are the same. Do not for get the plastic spurs (I recommend Kyosho)!
