The motor you can time and gear properly to fit your driving style.
You can buy any of the motors listed above and I have a box full to prove it. Every one of those motors are fast in the right hands. I borrowed a motor guy said it slow I re-timed it almost TQed with it. He was happy to get it back

...agreed, after trying many motors over the years I don't feel that one has that huge of an advantage over any other. Sure there may be small advantages, however the right setup and driver account for a lot more than the fast/best motor.

I've been running the 17.5 and 21.5 Team Powers Actinium v2 motors for the last few months and have been very happy with them. They are definitely competitive with the other new crop of hot motors on the market. They are a high kv motor so i have found that they require a short gear ratio. I'm running ~4 teeth smaller of a pinion than i would have with my motiv m-code.

One good motor is all you need, and not ten.... Work on your setup, and lightening your drivetrain if possible, on top of watching your battery's health.....

I am very interested in the information in this thread, keep it coming. I have been using a LRP but I feel like it has some short comings compared to the newer motors coming out.

Are we talking about the same motor? I have an Actinium V2 with a 12.3 rotor, and I have to gear it 3-4 teeth higher than what I gear my Monster 21.5 Certified at. It doesn't have a lot of timing, max 44 degrees endbell when on the motor checker

Interesting, mine gives the best results on the dyno with the timing set to 47 degrees. At 48, amp draw was 8 amps. At 47, it is 6.1 amps. 12.5mm rotor. 47 degrees is what my motor checker shows. The end bell shows 43 degrees.

That is really strange, at max endbell timing (past 60) on the can mine only goes to around 44 on the motor checker, at 50 endbell it was 37. The motor was very low rpm wise but could take a fair bit of gearing. Maybe the 21.5 behaves differently

Iirc, on the dyno with a load on it, this Actinium v2 had ~10% higher kv but ~10% lower torque than an R1 V15. At the track, i end up gearing ~10% shorter than the V15 and still have the same or more speed on the straight.

Talking

Can't drive in the snow.....lol....
If the motor pulls 8amps at 48 degrees, it must turn alot more rpms than 47 degrees...
I always look for a minimum of 3350rpm , no matter the amp draw, but if it exceeds 8amps, then something else is wrong.... Remember to decrease your car's f/r toe settings with higher motor amp readings: zero toe everywhere to go faster....
