ground clearance
What ground clearance do you guys run for bashing or speed runs? Where on the car do you measure clearance from?

If you're on an unprepped street with chunks of loose gravel or pot holes... then I would increase the necessary height to clear any such obstacle as measured.

really depends on the surface you're running... if it's a super flat parking lot without any bumps, then the lower the better... 9mm front and 7mm rear would do nicely for me.

Here is an example of how to measure ride height from the Hudy guide:

8mm pinion as spur gear?
I saw a youtube video of a DM1 speed car using an 8mm pinion gear without any adaptor as a spur. Can this also be done on a gtp2e?

Anyone else running an 8mm pinion as a spur? Does having a metal pinion and spur combo wear the gears a lot faster? Who sells 8mm mod1 pinions? I couldnt find any on ebay.

OFNA foam tires
Are the OFNA foam tires (OFN82031-P) any good?
I was thinking about getting a "blue dot" set(medium shore). I would primarily be using them for speed runs and light bashing

Noob here, first post on an awesome thread
I finally gave in and got a gtp2e on tower (first payment of three paid)
I've read ever single post of this thread and learned a ton of stuff, I've seen a set up a couple places, where there are turnbuckles attached to the upper arms on the front and the front aluminum plate. What does this help with? Slop? Or is it just a looks thing (looks cool anyways) hoping to get this paid off this week, start my build have a good set up in mind not gonna race, just do speed runs

Kershaw design's, cannot post a link but I found this out even before I bought my gtp2e and they come in tons of sizes. I'm thinking about running 34/34 for speed runs

Here's the link to kersaw's mod1 pinions. Definitely the cheaper way to go instead of buying a spur gear adapter. Does running metal on metal pinions/spurs wear them both out.? I've always run plastic spurs.

I've run metal on metal no problems so far. Only thing is keep your motor screws tight, I've had a motor come loose running metal on metal and it slid the motor far enough back to unmesh the gears, talk about sparks flying

97.8 MPH
I did a couple 6s speed runs today. I was hoping to break triple digits with the stock spur but not quite.
