Lightbulb Anyone interested in large scale / Nitro / 1/8 track in Ohio

Hey guys my name is Ryan! My father and I have been toying around with the idea of opening a track in Central Ohio specifically for 1/5, and 1/8 vehicles. We are wanting to get some input if this is something that yaw would have interest in running around the Ohio area. I run 1/8 nitro buggy, but there is not many tracks around here with large, beefy jumps. The last few tracks we have been to have been wimpy on the jumps, and personally I think thats the best part of racing. We have been racing since 2011 around central ohio, but have yet to find large scale friendly tracks for 1/5 racing (Losi 5ives, HPI bajas, Rovans, ect..). My father is an amazing mx track builder, and he has also done some pretty awesome backyard tracks with a few rented bobcats. We both love seeing tracks with massive triples, rhythm sections, large table tops, ect... I have not seen any mx inspired tracks that are 1/5 friendly in the Tristate area at all. Looking to get some input if others would enjoy a large scale / 1/8 track like this. We could run all classes, no discrimination here, but mainly focus our track layouts for larger scale action. Thank you so much for any ideas, suggestions, input that you may have! Hopefully we get some good feedback, and can go from there. (:

Long story short : Have an idea of opening a track in ohio for larger scale. Wanting to add better jumps, with more intensity(lol) Seeing if this idea generates interest among ohio racers.

Sounds like a great idea! If you build it, they will come! 😎

Where are you looking to build? Do you already have a location? A track like this would go over well but is a ton of work to maintain. Also the start up cost is high, AMB timing system , drivers stand, equipment to build and groom, water pump and water storage. I am located in southwest ohio/Indiana border and i have to drive a minimum of one and a half hours to race anywhere.

If it's close to Western MD, it'd be something I'd come to on occasion.

Ohio already has a boatload of tracks....

But what they don’t have ( and applies to about all areas of the country ) is people to help run tracks or volunteer their time to build / maintain these tracks , perhaps instead of opening another track and diluting the turnout even more, help with the existing tracks to make them better...

Yes. as long as locals will not call on the noise.many other timing systems out than amb..Time to get yourself busy. when I was involved in a rc track we made flyers and went to as many places as we could handed them out. with a certain percentage off when they showed up with flier also include a email so you might get some sort of turnout idea...good luck we always need more places to race.
