Sorry let me be more specific. I purchased the rc specilized front spool for the rdx but it doesnt have the pully attached. Am I missing something? Do I also have to purchase the pully as well? I currently have twin Diffs.

You need the diff pulley, part #79171. Also, i suggest get extra driveshaft caps, part #79189, it easily wears out when running a spool. I hope this helps.

If you run the spool do yourselfa favor and get the steel cvds and the metal blades...You will thank me after about 2 runs with the plastic blades...

Spools tear those plastic blades to bits then you have a metal to metal conflict and we already know what the outcome is...LOL
If you setup your spool right it is nasty agressive....My D rate is set to 72%....
Remember you want your cvds strait out from the spool.
Ok My two pennies....

Could someone detail the part names and numbers of the items needed to create a spool in my RDX?

Just want to make sure I got it right. Many thanks.

Here you go...

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=441&id=4923

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=443&id=5108

And these are what I would upgrade on the front end if you do use a spool....

Hope that helps,

If you are running a one way you will need the bearing holders and bearings for a diff to run a spool.....But I am assuming you already have those...

Could someone give me a part number for the motor guard piece. I have bent my brush tab twice from getting t-boned. I would like the motor guard piece as I believe it should stop this from happening.

Thanks in advance.

Default Question for Jeff B

Jeff,

Are the .9 piston still available? I purchased a new rdx with the 1.3 pistons and I sold my old one...however I have really been struggling with setting on the car...I can only figure it is the difference in pistons.

I have tried toso setup and cuffs setup listed on the website and the car has an on power push(high speed sweeper type of turns) and tons of off power steering.

I have tried changing the damping but I my car seemed to work much better with the .9 pistons with 40 front and 30 rear oil...any other suggestions other than the pistons...caster and rear toe in adjustment have not really solved the problem.

Thanks Jamie

Yes, the pistons are still available. They just put the 1.3mm ones in since everyone was switching to them. How high bite of track are you running? I ran today and went down to 30lb springs in the front and it was way better. I thought about trying the 26lb. Perhaps also try less droop in the front, unless you are already running about 1-2mm up travel.

The excess off power is usually due to droop and weight transfer.

Default Jeff b follow up

The track is med grip. As the track grooves up the car tends to improve as far as onpower steering goes. I been running 30-33 front springs and 24 rears. I have about 2mm of droop in the front.

I will try reducing the droop in the front.

What shock oil would you suggest for the 1.3 pistons if I am trying match 40/30 with the .9 pistons...I have been running 60/50 with the 1.3 pistons

I will give you guys all call on monday to order the pistons.

Thanks

Jamie

Well, probably either 60/50 or 70/60 to equal the same you were using. I would also recommend trying 22lb or even 19lb springs on the rear. I know, its weird, but it helps carve the corner.
