REBUILDING A KYOSHO FW04 SUPERTEN
. HI EVERYONE, THIS IS MY 1ST TIME USING THIS FORUM (OR ANY FORUM FOR THAT MATTER), SO G,DAY TO YOU ALL FROM OZ. ANYWAY- I HAVE BEEN OUT OF R/C FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND AFTER RECENTLY SUFFERING A NEAR FATAL SPORTS INJURY I HAVE DECIDED TO GET BACK INTO IT AS I'M NOT BACK AT WORK YET AND THE FREE TIME IS DRIVING ME NUTS. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE FW04 SUPERTEN HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW AND I'M HAVING EXTREME DIFFICULTY TRYING TO FIND PARTS FOR IT. THE PARTS I NEED ARE:-FZ5 LEFT & RIGHT ASSEMBLY, FZ19 DOGBONE SWING AXLE x2, FZ1 MAIN CHASSIS, AND SHOCK ASSEMBLY x2. IS THERE ANY PARTS FROM OTHER KITS THAT CAN BE USED AS AN ALTERNATIVE? I USED TO HAVE HEAPS OF FUN RACING THIS KIT AND WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET IT GOING AGAIN AS IT WAS QUITE FAST FOR A .15 ENGINE(W/2 SPEED). THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION, ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE HOT.

I would suggest looking up the parts on www.Kyoshousa.com and seeing if the parts from the newer model FW-05RR and FW-06 can be used in place of the parts you need. Otherwise check eBay. There are some stores that carry vintage cars and parts..just be ready to fork out some big coins for it. Lastly, if you can get your hands on a manual and/or measurements for the parts, them just buy other brands that match your measurements

The FW04 is a Superten sized car. Barely any FW05 and FW06 parts will work on it.
I have an extra main bottom chassis but its probably better to find someone on eBay who has it.

thanx 4 your reply, i contacted kyosho usa & they said they could'nt help me as i live in australia (very dissapointed!).
the fw04 is an oversized 1/10th scale, but the parts look larger than standard 1/10th cars (e.g. pure ten). so i was wondering if parts from a 1/8th scale could be used as the parts look simmilar (e.g. kyosho inferno).

1/8th Inferno parts won't work. The Inferno 10 buggy and rally variants share similar drivetrain components though.
Ebay has most of the parts you need. If you're really in a pinch, I can sell you an FW04 chassis thats new.

I have a trick Superten!
I have a fully optioned Superten. It was my favorite car. Unfortunately, its popularity was not strong enough for it to survive.

My superten!
Here are pics of my superten. I have not listed it on ebay yet because its hard to let go of my favorite car.
The car has a O.S. RX 15 engine in it that has very good torque and good compression.
Make me an offer and the car can be yours.

I have one sitting in the garage and I would love to rebuild it one day too. It was my first ever nitro car and had many many hours of great fun with it. Apart from the fond memories, it is in such bad shape its not fair to sell the thing to anyone.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to eBay my FW04 too. Its definitely one of my favorite RC's and I've had mines for 7 years.

wow guys i'm overwhelmed with the response. i thought it was a lost cause but there may be hope yet. i will try 2 contact some fo u soon as soon as i finish my latest stint of medical treatment. are all superten drivers as passionate as me? seems 2 be.
