stay with 16%.....................castor is always nedeed, but 2% is more than enough............synthetic, depending on its quality from 5 to 10% is ok..........

if you can't find 16% fuel, use 20%........

hey guys, I have a novarossi ns12 3 port and having issue with starting the engine. I just send the p&s for resizing and now the engine does not starts. I tried the factory setting lsn 2.25 out hsn 3.5 out and still no go. the turbo plug is fine and tried several, it does get fuel to it and it spins fine but no ignition. of course the glow ignitor is working also. tried different shims from 3mm to 6mm but still not firing. I have tried to richen the needles by up to 2 turns low and high but no go. piston and sleeves looks fine as well.

anyone has any suggestions?

thankx

If you live in the USA, buy from a US dealer.

Did you try putting some fuel straight into the cylinder? take plug out and pour just a little in... it should start... I have had a fresh engines does this... It may take a couple times.. something (oil etc) is blocking fuel flow usually after it starts a couple times it will solve the problem

do you get compression as soon as the piston starts to close the exhaust port?
checkin for fuel blockage is also worth doing, take the glow plug out and spin the motor, if your at factory rich settings you'll hopefully see a visible spray of fuel exiting out the glow plug hole.

I have a Mugen X12 with the grey head, is the piston and sleeve still available for this engine? I don't want the micro cast piston. Any part numbers? Anyone know where it is available?

I just got one a few days ago. It is part #08606. That is the X12 billet piston/sleeve. Try contacting nitrohouse or ace. They probably won't have it, but I know that Mugen does stock them. They have conrods as well if you need one. Part 07601

Doc I have the newer x12 with the turbo button and the part number is NOV08606 (competition piston/sleeve). Not sure if its microcast or not. I would try mugen to be sure (949) 707-5607.

Also here is the part number (F08613B) for the piston/sleeve & rod set I run in my stock X12 and JPX12. It is the JP-FX12 modified piston and sleeve. This is what I have been running all year.
