The diameter of the pins are 1.5mm, so it doesn't take much torque to bend them. So to ensure they don't back out you use some shrink wrap to make sure they don't come out and you have 3 wheel drive... not fast I can assure you.
If I recall that was a rolling change so the part should be the same number but with v2 on the package.

Tightening the set screw too much is what causes the pins to break usually. It stresses them and they break but I have yet to break a blue one!

The new ones are V3 pins and are blue. The key is to get some of the Purple loctite from Mcmaster car (Its for metric screws and light weight strength). Just put some of that on there and barely tighten down the set screw. Then heat shrink it. I did this after the carpet nats this year and have had the same set of ECS's in my car since then and not broken or lost a pin since on that set.

For the Protoform bodies for the most stable to most aggressive:
Speed 6, P37-R, LTC-R
Speed 6: Generates very good on-power steering and the most stable.
P37-R: Combines the initial steering of the LTC-R and on-power steering of the Speed 6, rolls more and is good around carousels.
LTC-R: Generates more initial steering than the Speed 6 and P37 and less on-power steering.

It's a running change so the part number is the same, do be sure and confirm that what you are getting are the blue ones. FYI I have orderd pins from mcmaster before and had the cut to lenth and a notch cut into them. The pin stock I got from them was junk and worse than our V2 pins, so caveat emptor!
ECS Drive Shaft Pin 1.5 x 8.5 - V3
ECS Drive Shaft Pin 1.5 x 9 - V3
ECS Drive Shaft Pin 1.5 x 8.5 - V3
ECS Drive Shaft Pin 1.5 x 9 - V3

Anyone know when the next batch of T3 2012 versions will be in. I see most people have them out of stock!

From what I hear, USA gets them in next week and they start shipping to your LHS. I have one on order myself so I hope this is true. Someone also indicated on the forums it may not be until the New Year.
