Hello, I just bought a new Losi 8ight RTR today for 350. Is this still a good deal on this older buggy? I really wanted to get the 2.0 but decided for my first race buggy I would start with something a little cheaper for now, until I get better. I have read a bunch of reviews and post on the 1.0 most are pretty good.

I do have other nitros but this will be my first one that I will try my hand at racing. I know before I ever start it I'm going to change out the grease for diff oil. I plan on doin 3/7/5. That's what I just put in my ultra comp. The rest I will learn as I go I guess.

The cheapest I found the 2.0 for was 619.00. If I could have gotten one for 500 I would have waited. Money is tight right now so I just got the 1.0. My next will be a 8t 2.0, maybe.

ha. your right. 250 more. bad at math sometimes. the barn floor is were i picked mine up at. 1.0 rtr is alright but the 2.0 rtr is far better and he asked so dont cry to much

If you got it new , that's a great deal! That's what I started with. Since I bought it in February, I have upgraded the engine, servos, shock towers, Body, clutch etc. Your truck will be good to go for now and as stuff breaks you can upgrade to better quality stuff. That way it wont seem like such a black hole. Post some pics of the new car in action.

When you ate ready to upgrade that rtr buy a bcespeed 2.0 chassis and a rear driveline about $115 all togeather and your rtr will handle better than a stock 2.0 roller. The chassis is that good.

Thats not a bad deal I would say. Not a great one, but not a bad one either.

I just snagged an 8 2.0 RTR minus the DX3S for $250, the buggy was nearly new and had only a few small scratches on the bottom of the chassis, the motor has so much pinch you can barely turn it over by hand. I got lucky! And I couldn't be happier.

But as a rookie to racing, the difference between the 1.0 and 2.0 will not matter so much, getting to know how the buggy drives and learning how to drive it fast is what will make the difference. If you like your buggy and are having fun running it, then you WIN! You dont have to have the latest and greatest to be competitive and have tons of fun at the Sport/Local Level.

Hey man that car will be great but if I was you I would put the raised tray it keep the servos from hiting the chasis when you land a jump. Good luck and have fun racing.
