I think that race you mentioned was the first race the track held. It clashed with another race which I participated. I think it was at the Shah Alam race. The last race (you were probably not there) belonged to Wong. Racers from Sabah also came if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, we know who swipped all the rear shock towers in town !

Could it be that at the time you changed to 16/61 and 21/57, you did not tighten the engine mount screws enough?

I'm on 17/61 and 22/56. Been with that gearing since the early days I started running the 710.

You ask too many questions at one time Rookie ! While not answering your question directly, I'll mention this...

The only difference between the Centax 1 and Centax 2 is the flyweights (no retainer spring), the harder Centax spring (1.8 mm versus 1.7 mm) and the bearings (bigger normal bearing and thrust bearings). Centax 2 (which comes with the 705 and the 835 kit) uses the same pinions. Therefore the Centax 2 clutch will mesh with the older Centax 1 spurs found on the Impact with some minor mod.

The Centax 3 pinions are fine 0.8 pitch. They will not mesh with the lightened gearbox spurs from the 705/835 or from the older Impact spurs. You need to replace the 835/705 spurs with the lightened spurs for the Centax 3 which comes from the 710. The aluminum hubs and the one way adaptor are all the same. You need to replace the 2 speed shaft on the 835 (same as the one that comes with the 705) with the 710 one though and use the aluminum spacer that comes with the 710 (incidently the same as the spacer (9638) that comes with the Impulse / Impulse PRO) which separates the bearing in the bulkhead with the bearing in the 2nd speed spur. The 705/835 uses the bigger 909633 aluminum spacer.

See above. You cannot fit Centax 2 pinions (same as Centax 1) on the Centax 3 clutchbell. Different threading.

Same here since the last race at TT. In fact, have found just the right amount of rear diff setting to be able to punch out mid-corner without being tail happy with this 1st gear combo.

Are you racing at Andalas today? Hmmm

Hope I can get some feed back by tomorrow.
My 710 has been running perfect all weekend long. The mods clutch really adds some potent kick out of corners and I feel like there's more top end speed too.

The only thing that I need some input in setting up the 710 is that the car has a tad tendency to run sidewide while accelerating out of corner on power. I've tried sliding in the rear swaybar ball end 4mm, full caster and tightening rear diff. The car still can't keep its line tight accelerating out of corners (high speed corners).

Today I was running new tires which are 37 shores front and rear. Man I was doing cart wheels all day long I guess the tires doesnt suit the track since the track is high bite. Had to get new 40 shores in the rear and use my sotck tires up front which worked out pretty good. Crack my front bumper and lost my front pulley belt as well as the pulley up front. I think it has to do with the car flipping too much

I got a question. Lets say all your suspenion is tuned right and the springs are all adjusted so that it has even preload all around then why does the car still tweaked when doing the lifting method? I made sure the sway bars were disconnect and stuff but the car still has a bit of tweak when I lift it. Does it have to do with anything with the car being not perfectly balanced out of the box as in the rear left might be heavier than the rest? So in my situation do you think it is because the car is heavier in one corner and no matter what you still need to adjust the individual springs preload because the car does not weight the same in each wheel? Has anyone put the 710 on all 4 scales to see which side is heavier? I doubled check to make sure all the springs were adjusted with exact preload when turning the spring collar. Sorry if it sounds confusing. The only thing I can think of is maybe the shocks compression or rebound could be off? Maybe I need to rebuild the shocks There are too many things that could be wrong so maybe someone can shine some light

Possible but not so likely. More than likely, you need to check to see if all the settings are correct. I have a section in the FAQ which describes the points you have to check. Have a look under the section "Why does my car turn right/left under breaking".

Cheers, Mark.
